wanted to score 20 against Price...need to settle for 8.
Judge now 2-2 against his college teammate Haley

Wow! Bombers are raking tonight
Eman11 : 7/1/2018 9:39 pm : link
Good to see they came out pissed off after getting shut down last night, and not letting Sale get them into a slump.

They're just knocking the cover off the ball, even the ones that stay in the park.

They didn't say but his single earlier was 120 mph! Could you imagine being an infielder when he's up?
This is batting practice

I'm loving it. Jackie Bradley has run about 1200 feet tonight. Dude may qualify for the boston marathon by the end of the game.

Man there is no middle ground with that guy and the Yanks. Either he pitches a gem or gets absolutely pounded.

It’s pretty amazing what we’ve been doing to Price...he’s been pitching pretty well the last couple months, hadn’t given up more than 3 runs in his past 9 starts I think

Yanks have had success against him over the years, but it’s not like he’s Sonny Gray. But they’re going to crucify him in Boston for getting hammered by the Yanks
According to Gameday Stanton's double was hit 116

Yes it is and we haven't even seen Judge or Stanton go on one of their tears yet. You just know that's coming.

I don't know, Stanton IS hitting .357/.429/.643 in his last 15 games, and that doesn't include tonight.

Yeah I should've been more specific. I meant one of their Home Run tears where they hit a bunch in a month. That's gonna be fun.
According to MLB.com
Greg from LI : 7/1/2018 9:52 pm : link
Price had never given up 4 homers in a game before, let alone 5
With the way Boone mailed it in against Philly Wednesday
mfsd : 7/1/2018 9:54 pm : link
Thursday’s off day, then 3 straight blowouts this weekend between Yanks and Sox, our big bullpen arms are getting a welcome mid season rest.

Almost time to get Betances and Chapman an inning in this one just for the work, they both haven’t pitched since Monday
Yeah, also a good night to pull Sevy a bit early.

as a trade target for the Yanks. I'd rather call up Justus Sheffield and see what he can do than trade 3-4 prospects for Happ

Dumbass.
They aren't trading 3-4 good prospects for Happ
Greg from LI : 7/1/2018 10:09 pm : link
It would be more like one B prospect, one low minors lottery ticket type, and a filler guy or two.

Same here. Let's give the kid a shot first.

If they did trade for Happ there's no way they give up that much for him. Unless 2-3 of them are real low level prospects the Yanks could let go and not feel the effects of.

Happ is 10-4 on a shitty Blue Jays team and pitches well in the AL East. And no, no 3 or 4 prospects for Happ unless they are Low A fillers..

Seriously. He instinctively got his glove hand up a little but was super lucky it was just far enough away not to hit him. Scary stuff indeed.

in baseball. I know people are worried about the rotation in the playoffs, but even as currently constructed, the Yankees are the favorites to win the World Series. Don't do anything stupid via trade. They wont need length out of anyone besides severino in the playoffs. Tell CC and whoever else to empty the tank for 4 innings and go from there.
I get it, they were going to take him out at 100 pitches
Greg from LI : 7/1/2018 10:28 pm : link
But jeez, it's not like putting Vazquez's sorry ass down would be too taxing.

I saw Severino pitch in person against the Rays a couple of weeks ago and I don't think people appreciate just how good he is. He gave up maybe one hard hit ball the entire game I saw in 8 innings

Yup. DRob hasn’t pitched in almost a week either...but why not just give him the 8th. Regardless, another gem from Sevy...striking out JD with a 3-2 changeup and 2 guys on was beautiful

They have guys they will be losing to Rule 5 that can be traded, so they have some latitude. They are not going to find a #2, they don't need one. I'd bet Sonny Gray will be available for a sturdy #3/#4 innings eater, too. I would not be surprised if Gray is traded.

I'm 41 years old and have been a Yankees fan my entire life, memories stretching back to the 1981 season. He's the most dominant Yankees starting pitcher I've ever seen, and it really isn't close despite having seen a bunch of great pitchers.

Been around a lot longer and Guidry for about 3 years was at this level and that is about it. The 1978 25-3, 1.78 ERA was the best season I've seen. I still think Guidry was MVP over Jim Rice.
I would trade
MookGiants : 7/1/2018 10:45 pm : link
Gray no matter what. Mentally he doesn't have it to pitch in this market. They wont even consider letting him get a start in the playoffs, hell they'd likely leave him off the roster entirely.

Just trade him for whatever the best offer is. He's a sack of shit in this market. I think they made a big mistake with the Romine bullshit early in the year. It was such a small sample size and they were catering to a guy who clearly doesnt have it between the ears. You dont cater to guys like that, you ship them out of town.

I agree. Just ship him out. He's good enough to do well in another uniform, so they may be able to get something for him.
