NFT: Anybody working in health care?

TJ : 7/2/2018 4:57 pm
I'm in IT for a sizable national health care company. IT was hit with a demand from mgmt 6 months ago to cut budget by 15% and couple months later told '19 budget starting 7/1 would be cut by 20%. Two weeks ago IT laid off somewhere around 15% of staff.

We're being told We're not alone and revenues vs projections are way down for all health care companies. Could be I have no idea. Anybody work for or follow the sector at all? Is this widespread? Or did management screw up?
sounds like you work for the company i used to work for

I just heard that numerous people I used to work with are getting laid off. I left there two months ago and went to another HC company. I haven’t heard or seen anything at my new company but to be fair my head has been spinning for the last six weeks or so...
I don't know

if it's industry-wide or not, but I got laid off from IBM's health division a couple of months ago. Purely budget related, not performance. Moving forward, I want to steer clear of IT and healthcare altogether, as I feel those companies are just eating each other up and shedding employees in their wake.
