For this 2018 year to start? This is something new. We are going into a year where (thanks to the refs) the Eagles are defending champions.
I must say I am not as excited as I used to be, maybe the sin last February puts a dumper on things. Things have been ruined. I am not hyped.
Not extra excited , I thought it was the Yanks doing well and my job distracting me, but I think this is 100% it, deep down I know all the eagle fans and media will just be stroking them and somehow we will here about it 16 weeks atleast even if we only watch Giants games and like 2 football talk shows
Not to be mean but I don't care about "your life" right now. The question was based as a football fan if the Eagles winning the Super Bowl has a negative impact on your attitude going into the 2018 season.
I don't know why you have to go out of your way to prove "there are more important things". Keep it in the sports realm, please.
Mook with the homerun.
Your best post ever. Couldn't be more true.
But, I've been moaning and groaning about the NFL product for years. Probably since the new CBA? I used to be all over football 10-20 years ago and couldn't get enough of it. I'd never see the day where I skipped AFC Championship games just because I knew who would win.
Ugh but those 0 Eagle Super Bowl jokes were great.
Everything went wrong for us and everything went right for them. Seemed like a scripted WWE event. I say yes because it never should've happened like this. I'm pissed more so at the Giants. They had them twice and let Philly get away.
If they beat them at home maybe they wouldn't had two dome teams come to Philly.
I just don't think the Giants have what it takes to compete with Philly...and you know what? They HAVENT for the last 10 fucking years. I was a Philly naysayer all year last year and they did get a bit fortunate with some of those calls but that doesn't change the fact this Giants team has been embarrassing.
Also yep, I had a family member pass right before the Eagles super bow in January, doesn't mean that those scumbags getting a sb victory didn't tick me off.
I just don't think this Giants team will be good. Average at best. Eli's last season. Maybe 7-9 or 8-8.
By the way, don't forget, you're going to get a different reaction from the North Jersey/NYC crowd who really doesn't have much of an idea like those of us south of Exit 129 on the GSP.
Maybe it's just because it's July and I'm really not in football mode yet. I hate the fucking Eagles, but whatever.. I'm over it.

What really else is there going on that's noteworthy? LEBRON to the Celtics?
I still root against teams but if they win, whatever.
My team losing still bothers me although my way of dealing with it is basically just to pretend the sport doesn’t exist until the next game. So if the Giants lose I won’t really listen to or read anything about the NFL for a week. The recent years of mostly bad Giants teams have made me pretty out of touch with the league as a result.

I care much less than I thought I would.

Baseball?
Fucking disaster.
Spot on.
And thank goodness this happened when I was 29. If this happened 10 years ago, I probably would have done some thing insanely stupid.
It definitely sucks but not at all in a way that makes me less excited for the season. I just cannot wait to see Barkley and Odell in the same offense.
For not beating the Patriots?

Because they should have beaten the Eagles in the Divisional game and fucking blew it.

Yep. Classic Matt Ryan.
I'm sorta over it, but not really.
But to each their own.
Because of the refs? Eagles are champs because they were good enough to take advantage of good breaks, like every champion, including the Giants.
You guys sound like fragile fans.
But to each their own.

I'm guessing you didn't watch the Super Bowl then. Yes, because of the refs.
Fragile? I mean this is common sense here. We hate the Eagles because they're a rival. Keep it weird, dude.
Like?

Exactly. The rest of the NFC East has dealt with 2 Giant SB’s in the last 10 years and they have all supported their teams just fine. The Eagles winning was brutal, but I’ve moved on.
I thought no way will the Eagles offense move against the two corners of the Pats.....and then BB shit the bed....

Fuck da Eagles, but there are bigger things going on in my life and the wider world to sour my mood.

Yes...that Clement TD by all means wasn't a TD and the Foles catch was an illegal formation and should've been ruled dead. The ref was wrong.
You live in LA lol
What would you exactly know about Eagle fans?
My take has always been they did an awful lot of good things during that season to get to the point we're one spectacular play would propel them to a championship.
All champions get good breaks, the difference is they did enough that it mattered.
I watched, rooting hard against the Eagles, I live in PA after all. It bothered me, but they deserved to win and it certainly doesn t mean anything for this season.
I called you fragile previously, but after reading some of your other responses maybe I should have written immature.
Especially since they played the Pats.
+2
Maybe I'm one of the few outside NE who doesn't hate the Pats. Still think of Bellicheat as our DC, and Kraft has or at least had great respect for the Giants and The Duke.

That Clemment Catch clearly wasn't a touchdown
The illegal formation never should've been ran. Is that not a five yard penalty? Just because he checked with the red doesn't mean the red was right.
That's maybe the difference between 10 points there

Ok fair enough. You do bring up valid points. Have a good 4th.
If you check with the ref and he says everything is good then everything is good.
He's 100% right because he would be the guy throwing the flag.
The Eagles didn't win because of the refs. Continuing to harp on it is really fucking odd.
The red should've known the rule so yes in fact the refs had their fingers involved one way or another

Hope you find your enthusiasm for the season, I think the tide has turned

Any Giants fan that not only rooted for the Eagles but is gloating about it now needs to be banned.

Still can’t believe people here rooted for the Fucking eagles. Why would you hate the Pats? They Were on the receiving end of two of the best nights of our lives.

You waited 12 hours to say the same thing haha
Wow...?
It's in the rearview mirror.
The Giants appear to have greatly improved the team.
Soured?
Hardly.
The Eagles victory only makes the start of the 2018 that much sweeter.
being 3-13 and sucking with a clueless coaching staff soured my mood...
case . Watching the game I had a good feeling it was there
turn . But if you don't think certain games are rigged I don't know what to tell you .
Nothing can top my contempt for McHandley and the embarrising way he handled this team . We might be and under 500 team this season depending how long the team gell's on both sides of the ball but I am pumped up looking forward to seeing what this Offense is capable of
Can't argue with the weapons thats for sure we could go
anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6 and a wildcard .
I agree with this guy. I’m usually all over OTA’s, mini camp, “30 questions in 30 days”, etc and this year I felt entirely indifferent. Now I’ll watch every game, no doubt, but my expectations are lower this year (5-7 wins) than at any time in the Manning Era.
I'm excited about the possibility that a new coach may bring better results.
LOL. Even if your wish came true, what's that the first time in over a decade?

A man can dream
Who cares if a team wins all the time outside the division? You want to see the Bengals or the Jaguars start to win if the Giants don't win everything?
Tom Brady threw for almost 600 yards. Yeah. Totally his fault BB and the refs gave Philly the game.
Some very odd responses here.
