Tebow's
CMicks3110 : 7/3/2018 8:04 am : link
GO/AO ratio is 3.39. Meaning when he puts the ball in play, he's hitting ground balls more than 3x more than he is hitting fly balls. Tebow is a big, strong guy, if he could somehow get more lift to his swing, I wonder what kind of player he could be. I don't think I've seen a player with that kind of ratio before.

Bigger issue is he's an awful defensive player so as a PH or if the NL had a DH you could almost squint and see if but if you can't play the field it's tough.
I've never seen him play but I am shocked he's not a decent outfielder

Athletic, fast for a big guy, must have a cannon arm, no?

Below average arm actually. Poor reads, good straight line speed but doesn't take good routes. Hard to really blame him for this one but from just last night

Tebow is unreal
Eric on Li : 7/3/2018 9:19 am : link
out of any specific skill, never would have thought he'd be able to get to the level of hitting a baseball he's at taking that much time off. Probably never would have thought he'd even be willing to spend as much time in the minors as he has.
Tebow should be promoted
spike : 7/3/2018 9:53 am : link
To AAA. I hope he works on his defense

Good for Harv. I wish him well. He wasn't going to make it back with these Mets.

Realistically and innings limit aside, when can you see Kay pitching in Flushing? Some local write ups here say it can be as early as next year. That just didn't seem right considering he is come off TJ surgery.

Wanted to see your thoughts.

Tough call given we don't even know his limit for this year. Also was up and down in Columbia. If he finishes strong then it's not crazy to believe we could see him next year but that's if he pitches well. He missed bats but was also pretty hittable.

I'm curious too because I haven't heard/seen anything interesting today.
Assumed you knew already

Possible another debit of a starter in GCl.
Whoever the new GM is, I hope they are better at building a defense
Eric on Li : 7/3/2018 1:08 pm : link
From Britton - here's the Mets DRS up the middle this year.

Catcher: -8
Second Base: -16
Shortstop: -13
Center Field: -1 (though -7 discounting the injured Juan Lagares)

Yikes that's awful.
Kelenic

It's kind of strange when a guy goes 1-2 and that lowers his batting average.

Yoenis Cespedes, who has been out since mid May w/ a hip injury & had been waiting for soreness to subside, finally began a running program yesterday, per MC. Ran at 75%.

Noah Syndergaard (finger) threw a 50-pitch sim game in Port St. Lucie & next step is likely a rehab game.

He was not an NFL QB and he is not an MLBer. He is a sideshow.

Give him credit. He didn't play baseball since high school and he has a .732 OPS at AA. Compare that to Micheal Jordan who had a .556 OPS at AA. They both were the same age. It shows you how freakish an athlete he is and how hard he works. Of course he can't play the field and has a 36.4% K rate. He is not a major league player. But he is doing way better than I thought was possible. And yes, given how desperate the Mets will be to sell tickets in the fall he is a definite potential call up. If he was hitting .190 then even they couldn't justify it but he is doing enough where they can do it without it being a total mockery. It would just be a somewhat mockery.
I' rather watch Tebow
pjcas18 : 7/3/2018 7:01 pm : link
play every day than Jose Reyes (obviously different positions)

and there was a time I felt like Reyes was the most exciting player in the game. He did not age well.

And Ill leave this little gem here and grin

Shecky,
Happen to know anything about this kid Oscar Rojas? None of the usual suspects have anything to say about him so I assume he's just an advanced strike thrower (he's only 5'11) but 2 walks over 44 career innings is pretty eyepopping.
