Son is a junior and committed to a D1 wrestling program. Taking the family for a tour of the school and the area for a couple days, then onto a cabin in the mountains for 10 days.
Chug 27 beers
Blow off my hand effing around with fireworks
Throw eggs at elderly neighbors
Then maybe repeat the next day. I wish every day could be 4th of July, but I only have 2 hands and 1 job, so that's my July 4th and July 5th. July 6th I'll be in the hospital.
Like some, I have to unfortunately come to work on Thursday Â
The kids are off doing things with friends. One of those turning-point things in life (they’re 20 and 17), so it’s an adjustment for me more than anyone. Wife is now out and about. Just texted to ask about dinner - she’s getting fish and/it shrimp. We’ll figure out how to prepare it all later. I had a couple mimosas watching Forrest Gump, and organizing photos my uncle sent. He’s an award-winning photographer, and I’ve tried to talk him into having a Facebook page for a long time but he says at age 87, he’s becoming a little bit overwhelmed by all his projects so he gave me carte blanche to start a Facebook page to honor and highlight his photography over the years. Definitely a labor of love and I can’t wait to really get into it and start showcasing some of his fantastic works. My wife and I are probably going to go for a hike on the Binghamton University campus on their nature preserve with in the next hour or two. Tonight when my daughter gets home I will put her through a great workout on our exercise bike with interval training. She is going to try to walk on at the university of her choice this fall as a basketball player, and the brand new coach is hot and heavy for her to play on her team. Trying to get to bed tonight early because tomorrow we will be in the gym at 6 AM, lifting. She has to work at 8 AM but I am on vacation this week so I’m making the most of the time. Been hiking and lifting a lot. A good day, and week. All the best you folks!
last night- sandwich theme- pork belly steamed buns, egg salad 4 ways and lox/cream cheese/capers on pumpernickle, veggie sandwich on homemade focaccia, shrimp po' boys, crab cake sliders, open roast beef with mushroom gravy, and open homemade ice cream on lemon pound cake. Just relaxing today.

Any leftovers?
I've got a couple of St Louis racks on the smoker, doing them 3-2-1, and also a couple of chickens, a pan of beans, macaroni salad, and a tomato panzanella salad.

A few. Can we swap?
We are going to have to figure out a BBI pipeline.
After the game I don't know what I'm going to do, but I won't stick around DC for the fireworks.
Maybe Macy's fireworks depending on wife
We had a massive pool party Saturday I'm still recovering from where I put my cooking "talent" on display. I used
- my smoker (3 pounds of candied bacon aka pig candy and 10 pounds of smoked chicken wings)
- my griddle - sausage, peppers and onions (two kinds, one bratwurst and one Italian sausage)
- my grill dozens of burgers and dogs
- my crockpot, 8 pounds of sweet and sour meatballs
I even made a tortellini salad b/c someone asked if I was just serving meat.
All this in 100 degree heat with massive humidity plus the added heat thrown off from all the cooking devices.
I actually felt like at one point I was going to pass out from the heat. I sweated through 5 different shirts.
I complain, but it truly was a labor of love, other than the heat, I sweated like a fat guy walking a 5k.
So, for the 4th, I'm looking to just relax in the pool, with nothing else to do.
Then family picinic with:
Pool
Chicken & Steak Kebabs
Yankee game on TV
Yard games
Poker
Illegal fireworks at nearby park.
Cigars and whisky.
Blow off my hand effing around with fireworks
Throw eggs at elderly neighbors

Or just do nothing and post on BBI and goto the gym
I'm building this year double time

Maybe don't wear five shirts when you plan on cooking in 100 degree weather? Or if you do, don't complain about sweating through them all?
Seriously, you've given me an idea to think about. By that I mean walking through the next 5k I sign up for like a fat guy.
