Hopefully Frank, Dotson, Knox and Robinson perform well. Robinson in particular should be excited to play in some competitive games - it's been awhile for him.
I don’t remember a knicks team this young coupled with KP inevitable presence and the cap space in 2019-2020. I’m good with where we’re at even if it’s still nba wilderness. At least there’s hope. The mid 2000’s on have seen little to no hope.
The kid was the second youngest player in the draft. Fizdale is projecting him to start if he plays as expected though pre-season. If he's that ready that early in his career, the long-term outlook has to be impressive. We shall see.
Also intrigued with Alonzo Trier. Measured 6’5.25 in shoes with a 6’6.75 wingspan and 198-pound frame at the 2018 NBA Draft Combine. Called a natural scorer. "Not the shiftiest guard, but a powerful athlete with some bounce on the move and strong frame."
supposed to be a lottery pick at one point? I know he has PED violations but has he played poorly after getting busted?
Never heard that. He is not at that level. Jeremy Woo of SI had a pretty brutal writeup on him before the draft. He had him ranked #89 and going undrafted without even considering the PED stuff.
Trier is a dynamic scorer, but his selfish style of play has earned him few admirers among NBA types. The ball sticks in his hands, and you question how he views himself and how willing he’ll be to adjust when he’s not the top perimeter option. He’s not a high-end athlete, which means a lot of contested threes and difficulty attacking the basket—there’s a high bar for guards who are professional scorers, so to speak. He’s not a playmaker or a great defender, and has little appeal beyond his shooting ability. Trier needs to score to be successful and certainly has talent, but needs to reinvent himself a bit to have a chance at sticking in the NBA.
A lot of the people who watched him in Arizona agreed with that assessment. He has a two way contract so expect him to get a lot of G-League time.
Trier has the kind of OFF game that should play better at this level Â
fizdale says the offense is going to be free flowing, everyone involved, play with pace, guy who gets the rebound brings it up....
defensively he wants a pressure defense woth swotching, 94 feet...
him and frank sat down for a film session after first practice, his job is to get frank to be more agressive on offense, he said you can see it, as soon as he crosses over mid court he looks to pass..
says frank will play point and off the ball because they want to run so the player who gets the rebound will be the point on that possession... he needs to be agressive when henis off the ball and learn to get those easy baskets in transition...
knox basically said he worked on his cardio and defense, he doesnt want to hear anymore how he doesnt play defense and has a low motor.
hisnobjective for summer league is to win and show his toughness

Has Kevin Knox improved his ball handle and overall defense?
How about Frank and Allonzo Trier (may be the real steal of the draft class).
What/who are you looking forward to watching?

There is about a million things I rather be doing in Las Vegas than watching bad basketball. But, hey who am I too judge?
haha

There's 24 hours in a day dep. If you think our night will be ending after a 530 basketball game you're sorely mistaken.

Dep, it's okay, I will let you live vicariously through me as you enjoy your life in suburban PA.
Hey, I'll live vicariously through you when it comes to the summer league games - full reports are expected!
