Sterling tries several different moves and thinks too much instead of making the keeper panic
This. As a City supporter, this is my biggest criticism of Sterling. He’s at his best when he just reacts. Too much time to think in close doesn’t suit him. And it can’t be guaranteed Rashford scores there (and I’m civil enough to leave off the “T” preceding his last name). The United contingent here hasn’t impressed me any more than Sterling’s play (perhaps save some solid plays by Young).
All I know is Luka had one of the best games I've ever seen a soccer player have. He did everything for them. He is the heart and soul of that team. I'd love to see him make the Final. Although I can't see Croatia or England beating France/Belgium.
i'm no soccer fan but you have to watch the world cup.
Watching Germany beat Brazil four years ago 7-1 was almost as enjoyable as 41-0 over the Vikings

Luka put out 3 players worth of energy on the night. He's just an amazing pro. And his penalty JUST crossed the line. Thought it was saved by Akinfeev but the bounce went his and Croatia's way this time

Agree, I’m also one who really only gets into the World Cup, but it’s always a blast to follow.
Just checked into a hotel in midtown Manhattan, and was watching the end of the Russia-Croatia match in the lobby with a couple from France and a couple from Argentina, and we spent 20 minutes talking about how all the teams have done (take a guess which couple is happy with the results so far). Not many events make that happen around the world.
This threads been great too, appreciate all the chatter from those of you who are knowledgeable about the game
To me, the Russians are like the Iggles of international sports. I don’t root for the Iggles ever and I don’t ever root for the Ruskies. All European semis, must be fought for the all the South American fans that traveled to Russia. Such a great tourney, never disappoints, world party.
Yep, this may be the alltime "ugly women" World Cup semifinals ever
Agreed. Glad my team has surprised me and got this far. NIce to see Dele wake up today
They have an institutional system for doping. Entire Olympic team was banned earlier this year. Hard to imagine they'd stop now.
But will it be enough?
They tried to do that in a way when Russia was the USSR and Croatia was part of Yugoslavia

At least this game was decided on PKs, no controversy

Those russians had an unsually high amount of stamina, i’ll just leave it at that
The Ricketts family that owns the Cubs is among the major interested parties from the US, China and Russia.
