NFT: What are the top 3 things on your bucketlist

superspynyg : 7/6/2018 10:23 am
and are you close to achieving any of them?

Mine:

Go to a Superbowl (doesn't have to be Giants although I am would love this)

Go to see Notre Dame Football play in South Bend.

Buy a beach condo. looking for a 2-3 bedroom. Something on or close to the beach that I can enjoy or rent out.

This Sept I will be fulfilling my Notre Dame trip. I have tickets to the Irish vs Ball State. Sure its not USC or Mich but its good for a first trip. Cant wait to see the campus and hopfully take a tour of the Stadium.

The Superbowl may be close to fulfillment since its being played in Atlanta. I am willing to spend on decent tickets.

1) Go to a Super Bowl.

3)Have an affair with Margot Robbie.

Invert your order and you're on the money.

Off the top of my head -- (1) Go to Olympic N.P., (2) see the Northern Lights with my family, (3) return to Italy.
1. Never go bungee or base jumping
Marty in Albany : 7/6/2018 10:56 am : link
2. Never go sky diving
3. Never go para-sailing
I'm 100 percent successful so far.

to have a bucket list. Or maybe just too apathetic in general separate from my generation.

I don't even really have any goals.

Millennials and later generations definitely are more dreamer-ish - if I can paint with a broad brush.

My youngest puts together a summer bucket list every year the past few years and has a goal to do as much of it as possible. She has things like "have a lemonade stand for charity" "go to a water park" "10,000 shots" (a hockey thing), It's almost inspiring. Almost.

Depends how realistic we're being. I guess, in the realm of plausibility:

1) Watch my children grow up happy/healthy and turn into good adult people
2) Win Jeopardy
3) Hole in 1

until I got to go (for free!) to SB 45 in Dallas for Pit vs GB.

Great experience. Def would never have had funds for a trip like that. My uncle won a trip I think thru Boomer and Carton and took me as I was working for him at the time and his kids were too young. Man, we ate like kings in Dallas.

It was thru Big Blue Travel and I highly recommend them if any of you guys were ever considering seeing a Giants road game. Awesome people and a fantastic experience.

1) Live on an island for a few years. I'm in my thirties but it's a hope of mine to retire and live on an island for at least a few years. Perhaps snowbird to an island as opposed to say Florida.

2) Put an inground pool in my yard.

3) Go to every giants game in a given season. All 16 games.

ZGiants98 : 7/6/2018 12:08 pm : link
I also plan out a few places I would like to go each year. But, I don't really have a bucket list. Bucket lists seem almost unattainable or really pie in the sky.

Life is short. Write out the things you would like to do and simply do them. Dont wait.

Mine in order:

1. Attend the Masters

2. Buy a 2nd house on Loon Lake up near Lake George (Been going there since i'm a kid and a dream of mine is to own a house on that lake by the time i'm 50, I got 10 years, i'm gonna make it happen)

3. Several weeks long trip to Europe - spending time in Ireland, Italy, France and Germany. Never been and hope to do it in the next few years while my kids are young enough to still want to go with us and not on their own or with friends.

Certainly changes as you get older. I'll never get myself in the kind of shape necessary to surf the north shore of Hawaii, so that's off now. Probably time to rule out two chicks at the same time, too. Oh well. I think:

1) Raft the Grand Canyon from top to bottom
2) Live on a boat (not a cruise) for an extended period in the Caribbean
3) Play the Main Event at the WSOP

Mine:
MadMax : 7/6/2018 12:43 pm : link

1. Visit Israel (planned in 2020)

2. See a game in all 30 MLB parks (have been to 11, but 4 of those have since been replaced including old Yankee Stadium)

and

3. Take a six to eight week tour of Europe focusing on Spain and Eastern Europe

I'm a simple guy. I really can't think of anything that I have a passion to accomplish going forward. I've been to Israel and Italy and France, the only places I really wanted to see. I've seen a lot of this country. I'm going to Oregon for the first time in August which should be nice. I'd like to go to Tuscon for a couple of days, to New Mexico, maybe back to New Orleans again for some great Cajun food, but if none of those things come to pass, no big deal. I'd just like to stay healthy for as long as I can and then go quickly.

I've been fortunate enough to do some fun/cool things, so far. If I'm half as fortunate, here on out, I might find myself being able to travel to some interesting destinations ... maybe live somewhere I really love in retirement ... definitely know the love of grandchildren one day, and to spend a good long time with them and my kids, watching them as parents ... and as sad as this may sound, to have them all outlive me, including my wife. That may be selfish (in a strangely backward kind of way), but I'm really not sure how well I would cope, if I lost them.

Damn. Kind of a downer. lol Sorry. OK, so ...

Right now on my list - just today, and into the weekend - go swimming at my sister's house tonight, get into the jacuzzi later and relax, have some good food and some way-too-expensive scotch she has allegedly purchased for my arrival, and laugh far too loud with a bunch of family, also headed there this very moment.

have anything. One of mine for a long time was to own an expensive luxury watch, but I crossed that one off at my 50th birthday last year. I guess the two main things for me would to continue to play jazz guitar and enjoy bicycle riding for as long as I am able. I haven't traveled much at all. At 51, I have only been out of country one time (and that was only to Canada in the 1980s). Travel doesn't interest me. I honestly can't think of anything else. My daily life is good, so I am pretty happy with the status quo.

My Top 3 on my bucket-list are:
1. Visit every National Park and National Monument. Not just to visit and get a pin, but to actually fully partake in what each site offers. I've been to quite a few throughout my life, but have quite a few to see. I'll likely hit the road in the next 5 years and make a concerted effort to accomplish the necessary travel.

2. Thru-hike the Appalachian trail. Went to school that bordered the trail and spent many hours hiking the area. Gave shelter to a few thru-hikers and listened while they shared their experience. It sparked a desire to hike it myself. That was 20 years ago. If I am going to accomplish the feat, then it will likely have to be in the next 10 years.

3. Take my final dive into the Tongue of the Ocean. I'm not suicidal, but I'm not keen on slowly rotting away in old age. When the time is right, I will suit up for the final time and take the dive.

Meh. That whole wishful impacting activist, lazy, college grad, "can't even" shit you see being highlighted on FOX News or whatever is completely overblown. If that's what you mean. Some could be like that. I don't know.

All the ones in my close inner circle and on Facebook are more so blue collar people who just want to come home and say fuck you to the world and enjoy their apartments, wives, cats or dogs and everything else.

If anything, we like to bring up the past a bit too much. Everything is about when we were kids in the 90s and high school in the 00s when we do get together for boring events like weddings, reunions or when a friend is leaving the area and he wants one last get together. The times, the movies, "when WWE was WWF" Hey Arnold Doug Rugrats. Etc.

Then it gets boring and the night ends up being way shorter than you ever imagined it being going into it because you just want to get the hell home.
