August 9th can't come fast enough....

Doomster : 7/6/2018 9:11 pm
Of course, the flip side of this is, summer is coming to an end....

As I get older, it seems that the seasons are flying by...

It doesn't seem that long ago, that the Giants were about to start the 2017 season, and we all were hoping that OBj was ready....all the way up to game time....

And now, in 5 weeks, we go through it all again....the expectations last season, were maybe, unrealistically high....but after 4 straight seasons of losing football, what Giant fan didn't think we had finally turned the corner after going 11-5, and making the playoffs for the first time in 5 years.......but no Giant team sunk as fast as they did, except for maybe the '64 Giants....

Hope springs eternal for BBI every year......for me, I want to see something to build on, not another one year wunderkind....
I'm with you.

However, I'm an eternal optimist. Especially since 2007, I always believe, at this time of year, the Giants can win it all. No matter how bad they are playing during any season, they will win the next game and begin the turnaround to greatness.

Maybe this will be our year once again!
I look forward to Giants season very much

But have much to look forward to and enjoy this summer. Don t rush the season, it ll get her fast enough

The 64 Giants were full of Giant legends who got old, they were classy warriors and had nothing in common with the 17 Giants other than a poor record
Really?

I dont know
The 2017 Giants showed their stripes on the first 3rd down play

of the year...when Eli was sacked and they subsequently punted. It went downhill from there.

So the high-water mark was the 2nd play from scrimmage...
I’m good as is

football will come when it comes. No interest in getting excited for another long winter, football or not.

Exactly, besides wishing your time on earth away... I can wait and enjoy the summer
I mean damn...I’m not wishing my life away or anything,
Brown Recluse : 7/7/2018 9:39 am : link
I’m just excited for football. This season should be fun to watch. New coaches, new players, new schemes. OBJ. Saquon. Theres a lot to look forward to seeing.
This is going to be a season you have to let play out
AnnapolisMike : 7/7/2018 10:58 am : link
before making grand declarations. The early schedule is brutal on paper and getting to 4-4 at the bye week should probably be viewed as a success. I am expecting 3-5 to open the season. I think there are going to be serious growing pains early on with the defense. The offense worries me less if they stay healthy. I think they will put up points.
Summers always go by fast!
jpkmets : 7/7/2018 12:18 pm : link
My favorite book of Peanuts cartoons growing up was "Summers fly, winters walk"

Even seems moreso now since summer is my busy season at work (special ed. attorney, so ramping up to the start of school years in July/September is the mad season).

As for the G-Men -- I remain a complete optimist. I'm totally unrealistic with my fandom and generally really always see what bright side there is. So I'm fired up to see Saquon and think the passing attack will really open up with his addition as well as obvious improvement for the ground game.

Also, the NFL is the one league that seems to have annual outhouse-to-penthouse stories, so why not us??

adjustment season ahead

how fast or how slow will determine how good bad they will be..alongvwith usual injuries etc etc.

getting used to new staff, players, and so forth is a major factor.

Mike, is there a shred of possibility that happens here at the Forum? (:
I was optimistic last year

Not so much this year. I think DG's philosophy leads to a team that wins 10 games every year not a team that wins championships.

I’ve been screaming to anyone that would listen for 5+ years
ZGiants98 : 7/7/2018 2:10 pm : link
That if the Giants could fix the offensive line they could return to greatness. I think they might have finally fixed it.
Maybe the reason people weren't listening
Josh in MD : 7/7/2018 8:55 pm : link
is that everyone here was busy screaming the same thing.

Never want to wish time to fly by as you get older. But yes, I'm excited to see what this team looks like under a new regime.

I am not sure it is "fixed" fixed but signing Solder (and moving Flowers to a different position) and drafting Hernandez were 2 great moves in the right direction. May need 1 more draft ..... may? We shall see. No way we lose 13 games in 2018.

Let's hope it's not too late. At 37, it may be too late for Eli.

I think Omeme was another big move and a sure upgrade over Jerry. I also was pretty pleased with Jones(he’s probably average-ish) and if Halapio is outplaying him that bodes well for C too. Most lines aren’t perfect with 5 pro bowlers but I think we’ve made massive strides in one year. Just give me a middle of the pack offensive line for Eli and I’ll do cartwheels.

I think the arm strength is still there and of course he’s still got it between the ears. I do worry about a big hit that could finally knock him out though. We all know what happened to his brother.

What kind of philosophy results in a winning team, but not a Championship team?

Are there even examples of teams that win 10 games a year but can't win it all?

Saints eventually got a SB. Colts too.
I’ll take 10 wins every season
UConn4523 : 7/9/2018 2:39 pm : link
who the hell wouldn’t? Getting to the playoffs gives you a chance, and I’ll take that chance every year.
UConn..

I just shake my head at some of the things said here.

For years, the biggest complaint was that we aren't consistent enough. Now, we are complaining that the GM will give us a team that wins 10 games a year - and it is a criticism!!!

What the fuck?

How many games do you think we will win?
