The contract extensions talks between Demarcus Lawrence's camp & Cowboys reportedly happening next week probably won't get too far unless a Dallas offer is more than Olivier Vernon's 2016 deal ($17M-avg/$52.5M in guarantees/$40M-fully GTD). Lawrence & Vernon have the same agent.

Hayes Phil.com: Eagles assistant Duce Staley doesn't need your pity
“Staley earned interviews with head coaches who have known him for almost 20 years. Eagles coach Doug Pederson, Staley’s former teammate and fellow assistant and current boss, chose receivers coach Mike Groh. Pederson gave Staley the title of assistant head coach, but Groh remains above Staley on the coaching roster.

Giants head coach Pat Shurmur, an Eagles assistant when Staley was a player, a fellow position coach when Staley started coaching, and Staley’s boss as offensive coordinator in 2013 and 2014, chose Mike Shula.

Shula is the son of Hall of Fame NFL coach Don Shula. Groh is the son of former NFL coach Al Groh, who was the Jets’ head coach in 2000. As young coaches, both Groh and Shula worked on their fathers’ staffs. Both have coached to some distinction, but let’s face it: Sometimes it’s not just whom you know, but whom you spend Christmas with...”

I believe he’s STILL a FA and if healthy, I would love to bring him back

Except for the Jenkins and Cofield crap, this is the quietest I've seen it in memory in terms of articles produced by the sportswriters.

I believe so. Casillas never was signed too. And these guys were starters for us last year. Pretty damning.
A big "no" to Robinson or Casillas. You want to continue to recycle
Jimmy Googs : 7/7/2018 10:57 am : link
below average Giant linebackers??

BTW - not a very flattering statement on Eli Apple in that Lombardo article...
Robinson and Casillas both could be okay as backups
Ivan15 : 7/7/2018 11:31 am : link
They might fit the hybrid defense a bit better than Spags 4-3.

They are getting up in years but if they signed for the veteran minimum, they could be better than the current prospective backups on the inside.
