and not Cessa, who is starting game 2. Surprising. That means they are going to wait until after game 1 to demote someone for Cessa. Who is that going to be? I guess Red Thunder? They aren't going to DFA Cole or even crap Shreve just to get Gallegos up for a DH. They can't be without Wade for 10 days, as the only back-up SS. So it looks like game 1 is Red Thunder's last game for a while again?
Odd, I would have thought Cessa would be 26th man, to start 2nd game. But I guess they really wanted another arm in bullpen.

Wasn't Cessa already brought up and the #25 man with Gallegos being #26 for the DH? I thought Cessa's move tied in with Hale being DFA'd.
It looks like that's not the case. I read something that said Frazier is likely switched for Cessa after game 1 and Tanaka is switched for Cessa after game 2.

Ahh ok. I thought between the Hale and Loasiaga moves Cessa took one of those spots on the 25. Thought it was for Hale but wasn't sure.
Still - no reason not to crush Jimmy fucking YACABONIS and his 8.31 ERA.
Agreed but a lead off hitter seeing more than two pitches would help make that a bit easier. It's one thing if it was a pitch that should've been crushed but just missed. Another thing altogether when it's a shitty pitch you really couldn't do much with. Just take that even if it puts you down 0-2.
with a nice seven-game homestand against the shitty Rangers and Blue Jays, while we're playing four game sets on the road against Baltimore and Cleveland. Hope we have enough gas in the tank to finish strong here.

Yeah, not a good approach there. Need to make this guy throw some pitches. No need to give away quick outs.

Yup. Make him throw a lot, get into the pen and do even more damage. Plus it benefits us in the 2nd game if we get into their pen early.
I don't have a problem with them swinging early in the count if they get a great pitch to hit, just don't swing at pitcher's pitches early in this 1st game.

of course Jimmy fucking Yacobonis gets the called strike 3

Maybe Higgy can give them some tips...
I thought we couldn't hit with RISP. :P

what was Buck on about with the dirt in the batters box?
Machado slipped during his AB, so the grounds crew came out and rewatered and resodded the batter's box.
Gotcha thx.
Nice to see the bats break out early today! Be nice to turn in a couple laughers to ease the pressure on the pitching staff

That was a rocket. Nice double for 99.
Was that a double or fielder's choice?
My mistake - he advanced on the throw. I keep turning my head to watch the game while I'm sending e-mails for work.

No worries. I never know whether I'm scoring things right in my head.
