I am organizing a tailgate for the 49ers game at Levi's stadium this year, which is a monday night game. I expect about 50 people, all of whom are paying in.
Right now, I'm thinking of making hot dogs and sausages, maybe also have make your own deli sandwiches, potato salad and cole slaw, beer, soda, water and desert.
What I don't know is exactly how much food to bring (ie how many hot dogs an sausages, how many pounds of potato salad and cole slaw, how many cans of beer, soda, water, how many bottles of condiments, etc.) It is going to be mostly adults (2 kids so far).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Let me go get my Superbowl Tailgate Calculator .... it has a key for potato salad calculations. It's great ...
: ).
After some preliminary calculations off the top of my head - first, you are going to need a lot of help with this. How is all the stuff going to get to the stadium? Who is going to set up? Cook? Clean? Where are you going to put the trash? etc ...?
Is this your line of business ... or are you doing this for fun? Unless you own a catering business - I cannot see how you are going to have "fun" doing all this work. If you are making money doing this - that is a different story.
I need more details Keyser ... we will talk in the morning.
Maybe think of making a few trays of pulled pork in advance and just getting a few 6' party heros. Would take a lot of gameday stress off you. Sounds fun.
I can't bring a keg into the stadium. They only allow cans and plastic bottles.
I'm making this kosher because I want to eat at my own tailgate so no pulled pork.
I've hosted BBQs at my apt (which is not very big) for 20 people before using a small grill and provided food for 20+ people at my synagogue for after services on multiple occasions so I think I can handle this. I really just need numbers (ie how many cans of beer etc)
Levi's stadium is very tailgate friendly if you have never been there before.
Running our of beer would be a disaster, but you really have to know your group to estimate how much beer you think they'll drink. The good news is that if you buy too much beer, you get leftover beer to drink!

Really, ... no kegs? It would have been cheaper and more convenient.
I guess you are going to have to know your crowd. Even if everyone only drinks 1 beer ... what is that about 2 cases? 50/6 = 8 six packs (r. 2) 8/4 = 2 cases. So 6 cases is 3 beers apiece .... will that be enough? 4 beers apiece = 8 cases, and 5 beers apiece = 10 cases.
Who is going to bring the coolers and the ice ... can't serve warm beer Keyser?
You don't want to be responsible for anyone drinking.
Sounds like you've done this before.
Have fun.
