Goes to show what we can accomplish when we put our minds to work together. Imagine how terrific the world could be! Very happy for the families, the rescuers and everyone that was trapped.
While his solution wound up being a little dumb, late and unused. He did send a team of engineers and tons of batteries to be used so they could pump all night long immediately. The pumping out of water that they initially estimated could take weeks, was done in days. At least he offered much more than 'thoughts and prayers'
Is there any evidence that any of that stuff made it in time to be
I was pretty convinced some of them weren't going to make it out. So glad this story had a happy ending. Still don't know what that coach was doing or thinking - but all that matters now is that they're safe.

True, the one who did lose his life should definitely not be forgotten or lost in this. Was the ultimate form of courage and selflessness. Sad that he didn't make it out.
went there for a small birthday party for one of the teammates and the parents said the brought a ton of snacks and drinks with them. Thats probably what saved them

Don't you know that God pays particular attention to Giants fans?
RE: Great story, though now I'm sure now the discussion shifts a bit to
what in the world they were doing there in the first place?
Apparently it is a rite of passage sort of thing to go to the back of the cave and write your name on the walls. It takes a long time to get to the back, and this time there happened to be torrential rains which flooded the cave and trapped them. Normally the cave isn't underwater.

I was not aware of this. Good on Elon then.
You do realize that pumps that size don't run on batteries.
A real tribute to the folks who worked so hard to get them out. What an achievement!

Thanks for posting. This man's story should be known be all. Volunteering on his leave. A true hero.
Starring Tom Cruise as the coach (Last Samurai joke).
Thailand is a lovely country, I'm happy for everyone involved.
