what's everyone playing these days?

I've been all in on Switch, currently playing Hollow Knight which has been incredible. Would like to beat it by the weekend as Project Octopath comes out on Friday which will consume the next 60+ hours of gaming for me.

Just saw that Wasteland 2 is coming to switch, trailer just released today. No date yet on when it launches but hopefully its holiday. I've read BBIers in the past rave about it so I'll be picking it up when it launches.
I've gotten back into Warframe

I just saw a deal, maybe on Amazon, where you can get Octopath for like 20% off - may be worth checking out if you know it is a purchase you're going to make.

I preordered Smash and got it for like 48 instead of the usual 60.

As far as gaming for me, right now, I've been just plugging through Zelda BOTW. Best game I've ever player. It is amazing in every way and if you are into Zelda and open world games at all, you need to get it. I know I'm super late to the party, but I just picked up my Switch a month or so ago.
A related note

I just traded in my Xbox One and PS4 to get about $350 in credits at Gamestop, which I plan to put towards a PS4 Pro.

I basically bought the Xbox One a few years ago and played it like three times. The PS4 I got a little more burn out of but I figure if I can upgrade the PS4 to a Pro for not much out of pocket, that it was a no brainer.
I haven't touched my XBox in months

got bored of Fortnite and everything else is kinda, meh. Getting tired of the big systems to be honest.

Absolutely love the Switch, so convenient if you are a parent or always on the go.

I pre-ordered Octopath last week for that 20% off so i'm pumped for the weekend to get here. I'm travelling at the end of the month so the timing on it is great.

I still need to get back into BOTW. I played it a ton when it first came out then got sidetracked with life and haven't been able to jump back in yet. Such an awesome game, I'll get to it eventually.

Yeah, the majority of my gaming time is now officially on the shitter, which is extremely convenient.

I beat BOTW, then bought the expansion pack, which adds a ton of playability to the game, so I suggest that if you're trying to get back into it.

At this point in my life, I'm in a finish and then move on sort of mindset. So I'm trying to get to a pretty decent completion percentage on BOTW then will move on to Mario Odyssey, lol. I'm a few years back but, hey, it is what it is.
Odyessy is a great game
UConn4523 : 7/10/2018 9:58 am : link
was trying to complete the moons but just don't have the time and wanted to move on to something else. My 1 critique with Odyessy is that the worlds are super small compared to what I expected them to be. Some of them are smaller than Mario 64 world's which is really odd.

Can't speak highly enough of Hollow Knight if you like platformers.

Switch since Mario and Zelda. Just havn't been any new games that interest me. Too many ports. Preordered Octopath though and am looking forward to it. Not much else on the Switch upcoming in 2018 that interests me, so hopefully they surprise us with something new. Still a long way off from Metroid and have zero interest in Smash Bros.

Finished God of War a few weeks ago. I think it's the favorite for game of the year (it'll come down to GoW and Red Dead). The plot/narrative reminded me a bit of Last of Us, but a different take on that type of thing. Just a great script and atmospheric adventure but much much less "on the rails" than Uncharted games. Highly recommend it.

I'm working on Divinity 2 right now. It's a PC RPG, but doesn't need anywhere close to high end specs to run. Has a great plot, and really fun combat that reminds of Final Fantasy Tactics. Check it out if you like RPGs. It's being ported to PS4 and I think XBone too in the fall.

For the rest of the year, I'm looking forward to Dragon Quest XI (coming to PS4 only in the fall) and Red Dead 2 (PS4 and XBone). That'll likely be enough for the year. If Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night comes out in 2018, I'll get that too (Castlevania style kickstarter game from former game runner who separated from Konami after Konami went full on mobile games).
Red Dead 2
UConn4523 : 7/10/2018 10:03 am : link
is the only think keeping me from selling my Xbox. I'm actually thinking of possibly selling it for a cheap PS4 deal around the holidays so I can play Red Dead and Dragon Quest but we'll see.

great game but taking a break. Need something new. Been trying Fortnite. Fun game but some guys are just too good. Also trying The Division. Just broke 30 so we will see how endgame is.
Switch has added a lot of great games lately.

Hollow Knight and Dead Cells are both fantastic games. I don't have a switch but played them on PC but both seem like they would be perfect for the handheld playing.
Hollow Knight is amazing! Just got hooked last week

for my XB1X and was going to post about it, figuring nobody had ever heard of it. I really like it. Turn based, tactical squad RPG with lots of personality and decisions that really matter. I never played Fallout 1 or 2, but seeing as this was developed by some of the same team members, I’d imagine it’s pretty similar in some ways.
I got a copy of..

Pillars of Eternity for XBox One and it too is a turn-based RPG.

Different from what I normally like, but I'm into it. Last Summer, I took on Witcher 3 and it took all Summer. Wanted something a little less lengthy!!

I tried Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind. Couldn't get into it. Much preferred Skyrim

Pillars of Eternity 2 was a game I had my eye on. A lot of the same guys that worked on old RPGs like Baldurs Gate and Icewind Dale.

Path of Exile is a really good top down, hack and slash RPG in the vein of Diablo but with skill advancement cranked waaaaay up. It’s free too, which is amazing.

Just saw that Dead Cells isn't officially released till August 7th. I'm playing it Early Access currently. Can't recommend this game enough though. Metroid-vania inspired Roguelite type game where you when you die you start over but as you progress you unlike skills, weapons, and ways to access different areas. Fun game and easy to pick up and put down for short periods of time.

Man I put A TON of hours into The Division. Got it at launch and the endgame was virtually non-existent. They added so much to the game over the years and now it's a solid game. Really looking forward to the sequel in the spring.

What system do you play on? Im on PS4?
Still FIFA

The new Fallout

looks awful IMO. Unless the reviews are somehow out of this world, it's a hard pass for me. Big empty multiplayer world with no NPCs or real story just isn't something I'm going to invest time in.

Hollow Night does look interesting. It's a metroidvania type of game? Does it require insane reflexes? Sadly, even though I like the concept of the Dark Souls games, I'm just not good enough at them to enjoy.

He's a big boy now, I guess.

I've been playing Cosmic Star Heroine, Horizon Zero Dawn, Rocket League and Dota.

Always on the lookout for cool new RPGs or coop games.

Re Hollow Knight, its a platformer with an unbelievably detailed world. The art direction and music are off the charts. I don't think you need crazy reaction time to be good at it, just patience.
It's my favorite franchise in my home state.

I'm preparing myself for the biggest letdown ever based on what I have heard. They pretty much had my preorder when country roads started playing.
