NFT: Direct TV - Sunday Ticket - Loyality discount?

Stan in LA : 7/10/2018 5:15 pm
Called today to cancel auto-renew so I can negotiate in September(they said I wasn't on auto-renew, who knew), and the guy tried to give a $15 per month discount which for me was a discussion for another day, but in passing I asked what discounts they were offering. Got transferred to another dept(that guy was a Sunday Ticket specialist).

I may have gone to retention, don't know, and this guy said they were offering a 'Loyalty Discount' of $40 off per month for a year and free Sports Pack. Of course, I took it. I did mention I was watching streaming more and more and I understand they are trying to hold on to their regular customers so I don't know what the deal is. I never threatened to cancel I was just wondering if anything was on special.

Times have changed over there. I used to have to threaten to cancel service to get anything. Cable/satellite TV must be hurting.

ThAt you need to cancel at the end is the season so you get the best deals in aug/sep

Side question
What devices can you get Sunday ticket on IF you do t have DTV at all?
My parents moved from NJ to Virginia coast to help my sister this year and I want to get him Sunday ticket so he can watch the games.

and occur after you schedule a cancellation date. I followed BBI advice last year and they called me the day before my cancellation date for Free Sunday ticket max, hbo, and a big monthly discount (forget the specifics). Even with all the discounts I still feel its too expensive. Fortunately Im moving to the NYC area so I can cancel my service altogether.
Stan did you have to renew your contract?

I have found if that is on the table they happily throw out a solid offer. I was surprised I did not have to renew my contract with the deal I got. But Im sure cord cutting is making them offer better deals.

One year contract is fine for me since I can threaten to cancel before football. Free Sunday Ticket plus $50 discount for 12 months.
