I don't think anyone on the Knicks besides Knox and Robinson (and Frank, but he's not playing tonight) looks like they belong on the big team. Dotson looks like he's really regressed. The rest of these guys aren't very good.

That said, Knox and Robinson look very good.

Dotson has made a fool of himself this week.

He should be tearing this league up. I've been hyping him all offseason - perhaps I'll calm down until he proves something.

Frank Ntilikina (groin) and Luke Kornet (hamstring) will rest while Isaiah Hicks will give it a go. Hicks missed first two games.

They should let LeBron play. I'd like to see if he could score 120.

Knox is well beyond 18 years old. Very strong ballplayer. 11 pointsat halftime.

Trier does not look good. Hoping he learns to play team ball on his two-way contract. His current style wont cut it.
Unwatchable shitshow of a game.

Can we rescind Trier's two-way contract? Geez

That's 13 plus two of these scrubs and a couple of guys on two-way contracts. (Assuming no trades or cuts.)

He ended up -37.

Not easy to do that.
I thought Trier
mattyblue : 7/10/2018 10:48 pm : link
looked ok. He misses big at times for sure, but I thought he looks like a lot of potential. Robinson was really good, and Knox was as well.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander looks insanely good for the Clips.
Pretty excited about Robinson
moespree : 7/10/2018 10:55 pm : link
Knox too obviously, but Robinson has a chance at a great future. He needs to get bigger and stronger but he is young and has time to do that. If he does that I think he has monster potential.

look out of shape and like they haven't picked up a basketball in a few. Different offense as well.. but yeah, they are not lighting it up.

Defensive instincts. You can tell he is not in game shape yet but he will get there. Some promise for once with the Knicks, pretty exciting to be honest
I dont understand at all
Beezer : 7/11/2018 8:03 am : link
how any of these young guys are not in game shape. This is what they do. This is the dream that they had and now they are playing at the highest level, or at least with the opportunity to play at the highest level. What the hell else have they been doing? Havent they been getting in game shape? LOL. What the fuck.
I'm interested in the conditioning of the team in general.
Heisenberg : 7/11/2018 8:22 am : link
Miami is known for their conditioning around the league and Fiz has said he's bringing that to the Knicks. Interested to see how that affects some of these young guys. It made a huge change for guys like Dion Waiters.
Robinson looked great game 1
Stu11 : 7/11/2018 8:26 am : link
still decent game 2, but had a really rough one last night. The last 2 games the Jazz/Lakers have really gone right at him in the post and abused him. Still a lot of potential there and I'm excited to see him develop. You can't be anything but excited at the prospects of Knox. The guy has shown that he has to play big minutes this year. Of course these games aren't like NBA games talent level wise, but he's shown great instincts to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim and get to the free throw line. Once he finally found his shot in the 3rd quarter he was next to unstoppable. Will be really exciting to see him develop too.
I was just looking at the box score.
Ira : 7/11/2018 8:34 am : link
Trier shot over 60%, had 10 boards and 5 assists. Please add me to the list of fans that thinks we should sign him to a regular multi-year contract - and yes, he is better than Dotson among others.
Trier can play, quick and strong and hard to keep out of the paint.
Jim in Hoboken : 7/11/2018 8:49 am : link
We are all used to guards who can take shots only when they are wide open or just otherwise swing the ball around the perimeter here. We need talent first, lets talk fit second.

Early impression of Knox is very good, more elusive than his tape at UK suggested. Thats the thing with UK players, you just dont know what else they bring to the table. The shot will be there, but I like how he slips his way to the rim.

Well, college players haven't played games since their seasons ended. And Robinson dropped out of college and hasn't played a competitive game since early 2017. In shape and in midseason form are two different things. There's no training camp before summer league. You just get thrown in after two practices.
My only knock on trier...
Italianju : 7/11/2018 9:08 am : link
has been his ball hogging, but its summer league and you see that from tons of guys. You can see the guy can score and he is smooth going to the basket and has what looks like a smooth stroke. Im willing to give him a year to see what he can do.

So disappointed with Dotson, he looks useless which is pathetic considering he is a second year player in summer league.

Also considering he was an old rookie. He was 23 when he was drafted.

But, there's a reason why the 2nd round of the NBA draft goes forgotten.

It's less about his working out often and eating healthy and more about his lack of playing organized (or even pickup as far as we know) basketball for over a year. Dennis Scott and Greg Anthony spoke about this during one of the broadcasts in regards to Robinson. Basically they were saying that you can't simulate the adrenaline from a game and the exhaustion it brings on in the practice gym so when you guy that long without playing against real competition it takes time to get your body used to it again.

I'm not worried about it though. He'll probably spend the Knicks' off days with the Westchester team to get significant minutes and reps. He's got all the tools and seems to have good instincts for shotblocking and rebounding, just needs time. It's going to come down to what's in between the ears with Robinson imo.

I heard someone talking yesterday about how you're always going to get guys who are looking to show off what they can do because their chance of making the league are increasingly fleeting. My hope is that is what is going on with Trier and that he may be able to show how he can round out his game if given some more security.
