In today's unsurprising news, noted douche John Schnatter has resigned from his company, the Louisville Board of Trustees, and who knows, perhaps even his homeowners association.
From Deadspin: "In June’s conference call, Papa was asked “how he would distance himself from racist groups online.” (Normal question to ask a pizza man.) Papa replied by complaining that “Colonel Sanders called blacks n——-s”—no one is quite sure where he got this from—and KFC never got in trouble. He also noted, for some reason, that where he grew up people used to kill black people by dragging them behind trucks. (Normal answer from the pizza man.)"
I know he inexplicably has fans here, so I look forward to their impassioned defense.

Pappa Johns
Yup.
Always makes me wonder how someone could be smart enough to be so successful when they're really this stupid.
Yeah, my insides rebel for a minimum of 48 hours after eating papa johns. Awful!
really?
No one is suggesting that you dolt.

My thought exactly and he drags KFC into it. With those questions it seems like he was baited... and he took it hook, line and sinker. What an idiot.
I actually met him in Orlando a bunch of years ago. I was attending a trade show at the Rosen Shingle Creek, and Papa John's was hosting their annual franchisee meeting at the other end of the convention hall. I ran into him at Starbucks, and joked that he would be a hero if he sent pizzas to our trade show, and he glared at me and said, "Are you going to pay for it?". Relax son, it was a joke.
I saw that this morning. Wild.
Really, great work.
According to Google, the average cost for a Papa John's franchise is $275K. Imagine spending that much money and then having the company president make racist statements that would negatively impact your bottom line for years.
(And no, the franchisee doesn't deserve to get screwed financially, just because the company president is a racist or because they serve Pizza that you don't like.)

And this is after the split with the NFL earlier this year because of his comments.
Like which regions? Just come out and list where you think the bulk of the racists live and will purposely buy more pizza from a specific chain because a man who formerly was CEO of that pizza chain made racist comments.
Don't be bashful with your passive aggression.
Serious question: Is Little Caesars' pizza looked at in the same vein as Papa John's, as far as "pizza" goes? In the early '90s I lived in the Midwest and for a time, it was the best I could find (outside of Chicago-style in Indy, which wasn't god but also wasn't the worst). Then two cousins moved into town from Connecticut, opened a place in a local mall, and that was that. Never had to rely on Little Caesars again.
So true.....Peyton can't be that big of a fan since he sold his stake in Papa John's before right before the NFL split.
It would be much different if he affirmatively used the word himself to refer to a black person. He didn't do that, but it's being made out as if he did.
What am I missing here?
If I repeat that quote, am I racist?
Really, great work.
Thanks!
Very interesting and amazing numbers for a pizza that many consider "terrible"
Third largest pizza delivery in the US
Papa John’s 2017 annual report records total revenues for the year of $1.78 billion, with a net income of almost $103 million.
The company has a current market value of $1.57 billion, though its share price fell by 5 percent after Schnatter’s resignation as chairman.

Again with the passive aggression. Have some fucking balls and say what you mean without veiled ambiguous comments.
Are you saying I'm a racist?
Otherwise I have no clue what "your type" means, but I'm not surprised you paint people with a broad brush, especially those you accuse of being racist. It's the hallmark of people who try and make everyone into a victim, like I imagine you do.

But, as an exchange between an interviewer and ostensibly famous person, it seems like a jackass question with an asshole response.
But, just knowing he's a CEO, I concur with the comment about how could someone be so successful while being so stupid.

How can you watch football and not know who this guy is?
