no more stupid expectation talk. Hoping I don't jinx it, but it really bothered me the last few years when a Giants player would start saying how they were the best or going to do amazing things around this time of year. Always to never follow through. Example - Bobby Hart saying he's the best right tackle in the NFL when he'd only been a marginal starter up until that point. Or this
Via Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune, Bears cornerback Prince Amukamara was asked what he hoped to accomplish this year.
“I’m really looking for a 10-pick season,” Amukamara replied.
The 29-year-old Amukamara has played seven seasons in the NFL. He also has seven interceptions, with three of them coming in 2014 for the Giants. His last interception was in September 2015. |
really happy this current group of Giants seems to get the idea of shutting up and proving it when it comes time.

we are going to regret that one...
2. Health - we aren't too banged up heading into July 22nd and the early start of camp. Our starting units DEFINITELY need to stay healthy this year if we hope to have a winning record.
3. Player Development: I think Engram, Tomlinson, Gallman, Webb and even Goodson, Apple have a shot at being solid NFL players. Apple is an unknown but there is no denying his PHYSICAL Talent.
4. Schedule: we start at home this year against a very quality Jaguar team. Maybe we surprise them with some wrinkles and an offense that should be able to move the ball on anyone if healthy. Having Dallas game 2 is great for us as well since their receivers are so new, not overly talented and their pass rush will be limited by suspension.
We travel a lot less this year than last, and we have an extra home pre-season game.
I have high hopes that we just "gel" earlier than expected given the new schemes and stay healthy. It is all you can ask for this time of year!
Heaven knows I’m all in on Barkley, but I think it’s premature to label him an emerging star.
