NFT: Installing a kitchen backsplash over a metal one

DC Gmen Fan : 7/14/2018 1:14 pm
So the new appliances look great. And because they look good, the eye now goes to the hideous stainless sheet metal backsplash we have.

Problem is I can't remove it as the screws are deep behind recesses and behind the new microwave bracket.

I've never done a backsplash before but is there a way to install tile over the existing metal one?
I haven’t done it

But I know you can with the right adhesive. Not sure what the right one is though. Also make sure you clean the metal extremely well before applying.
how thick is the metal?

Perhaps you can just cut out the metal (and screws) with a dremel

if possible, perhaps drywall over it and then put the back splash on?
