Giants Access Blue

Anakim : 7/14/2018 11:35 pm
I DVR it every week, but I seldom am able to watch the full episode due to a lot of fast-forwarding. Why? Because every episode is either a repeat ("this year marks the ten-year anniversary of the Giants Super Bowl victory...") or the episode consists of stupid stuff like Brandon London visiting fancaves and Madelynn Burke walking 50 yards with players, asking boring questions.

We have a new coaching staff and a host of new players, including one of the most exciting players in college football history. Why can't they break down these new players? Show highlight reels of them. Let us get to know the newest members of Big Blue (and not by asking what songs they sing in the shower). I don't need to see what Kevin Boss and Aaron Ross are up to for the hundredth time. I'm looking toqards the future, not the past and it'd be nice if the Giants shared my enthusiasm. Geez, you'd think Coughlin was still head coach if you only watched Giants Access Blue.

Oh and more Emma Kaptein, please

You nailed it. Very disappointed. I used to look forward to the show. Now, not so much.
Good point

Ive said for years since living in Philly, the coverage of the Giants for the fans in between games and during the offseason really only exists in newspapers and here on BBI. You should see the coverage of the Eagles down here. FM radio station with like 4 hours of coverage starting in the mid afternoon. A dedicated and informative sports desk type show at night. They feed the fans plenty of material. Up there there are two teams and the coverage for both its paltry at best.

As far as the actual show, I could never stand it. But its what...a half hour long? I agree that Giants brass should be pissed about the shows production. Hell, just this week....how bout a little profile on Sam Beal?! I couldve written an hours worth of subject matter focusing on Beal and the secondary in general.

Hey, Im trying to get out of my current line of work and have a writing background. Maybe this is my move!
IDK

Call the team and tell them

Maybe they will agree and change it up

I used to write to shows and they work with you

Agree with Anak. However, we tend to forget

that 95-99% of Fans are casual. Breakdown of the roster, etc., is boring as shit to them. London visiting a cave is splooge-worthy to them. 😎
No bigger fan than me, but as the years have gone on

I watch considerably less and less pre-game and NFL coverage shows. Mostly because my day is better spent elsewhere, but also because these shows just simply suck.

I am fine with a DVR'd game-only that I start watching 30 minutes late so I can bypass the commercials, and synch up with the live feed near the end of the game.

Have to check the archives

I don't know, but I would wager that she has massaged more guy's taints than Eli has in his career.
I've never seen her read a script when I've watched her tapings

she's very professional -- really it's one thing to criticize her or her show - but all the abusive sexual stuff is really out of line

If that's her at 10:28, then she's really had a lot of face work done and I have no idea why. She was really cute.
I agree with Jimmy Googs.

I feel our sports coverage has become so over-saturated that I have found "better" things to do.

I routinely DVR every game, get off the golf course around 2:00 pm, and then zip through commercials.

I've come a long way from watching guys carrying refrigerators on their back on the Wide World of Sports, or going to a game and the coming home and re-watching it on the VCR.

Maybe it's age, maybe we have better sports programming or just better things in general to do than listen to some jocks scream "he got jacked."

Out of habit, I still watch "Giants First and Ten" and the camp reports on MSG but Access Blue was always pure fluff.
Highlights of saqon barkley aren't hard to find
Ten Ton Hammer : 7/15/2018 10:41 am : link
There are dozens of them on youtube for free and available any time you want them. I don't watch much TV but wanting to see highlights of players really shouldn't be a thing that people are demanding. It's already available for free and any time you want it.

I think the NY market for sports talk radio is always divided against itself whereas phill doesn’t have the problem of multiple teams and balancing coverage for the sports fans. And they do a great job of creating a culture for fanatics on their channels. New England similarly delivers great 24/7 content on all channels - Giants unless they do it themselves are never going to receive the same kind of attention. NY by comparison has too many to please, too much going on to really deliver quality content all the time
There's plenty of media to go around in this town
Ten Ton Hammer : 7/15/2018 10:48 am : link
If the Giants wanted to have the same coverage that New England or other teams do, they could certainly have it. Bob Kraft and the Patriots ownership love the glitzy promotion. Hell, they built a shopping mall around their stadium. It's like disney world for pats fans.

The reason why this is not the case, in my opinion, is because the Giants like not being the center of attention such as the Yankees are. They've always had an understated, practically austere public image.

This. I live right in the split of NY and Philly coverage. The Philly coverage has put the NY coverage to shame for well over a decade.
I miss the days of Giants Online
Anakim : 7/15/2018 11:10 am : link
When Papa, Hanlon, Fooch and a couple of the beat guys (Garafolo, Vacchiano, Schwartz, Neil Best, Kim Jones, etc.) would debate about different things regarding the Giants.
The coverage does suck.
smshmth8690 : 7/15/2018 10:44 pm : link
Let's not even mention the horrible weekly post game show. Last wee I was away on vacation, and was able to get DC & Philly sports channels. Both were giving constant little bits of info about the Redskins & Eagles.
Why do you want information on the Giants

when you can get 3 hours of the Mets, Jets and the immortal Greg Fina on the Giants flagship station?

Yeah, but it'd be nice if there was someone to break the highlights down. I just want the show to have more of a current flavor. It seems to be very lazily done.
