I am not. I am going to watch the AS game but the HRD is not what it used to be.
Plus many of the best hitters like Judge, Martinez, Machado are not doing it. And I can understand why. It can really throw off your hitting.
I guess I will finally finish up Homeland.
So much more interesting.
In the NHL I like the skills competitions - fastest skater, hardest shot, accurate shot, penalty shot/one on ones
in the NBA I like the slam dunk contest and 3-point contest
and I loved when Sehorn was in the NFL best athlete contest or whatever it was called.
I'd focus more on skills, not sure what baseball can offer, but the game itself is brutal - even though the MLB all-star game is the most compelling of the major sports.
Seeing deGrom strike out the side on 10 pitches was cool to see (as a Mets fan). and there have been some iconic moments, but generally the game is a big snooze.
Make 4 teams and have the 1st two teams play the first 3 inning, the 2nd two teams play the 2nd 3 inning and then the winners of both play the final 3 innings.
If it's tied after three, you bring in rules like start with a man on 2nd etc that have been talked about being brought to baseball already
There's always that crowd that says "No stars are in it this year" but at the same time will complain that MLB doesnt market young talent. Maybe it's on you to open your eyes?
Agreed. And as far as I'm concerned only bad things can happen during the HRD. Thankfully Judge isn't competing.
The one minor saving grace this year is the World Lacrosse Games. The US-Canada pool game was excellent, with the US winning 11-10 yesterday.
Bring out the mashers because the best clearly aren't interested.
