A bit disappointed for Sevy. I know Sale has pitched a bit better lately, but overall I though Sevy deserved it.

Truth be told, I�d prefer Sevy not throw at all in the ASG. Wish Sale would throw 8 innings and 120 pitches.

with the less Sevy pitches the better. I'm glad Chapman bowed out and is more focused on the rest of the season.

Contrary to you guys, he DESERVES the start, and s/b on a 20-25 pitch count.
Sale will likely do only 1 inning anyway, especially with so many starters with excellent records.
If he has the clause for bonuses for being named to and/or starting ASG, at least the Banks save some $$$.

I actually think Sale legit deserves to start - but you could make a good case that both NY pitchers (Sevy/deGrom) should be the starters. Which, would have been at least sort of cool.

Obviously with the game being in DC, Max is getting the nod for the NL, though.

Sale can pitch as much as he wants tomorrow.

It's very close between two excellent pitchers.

I can see Sale getting the nod because his stats are a little better and he's a veteran who's been one of the best pitchers in the AL for a long time.
