Doesn't even matter what set I'm talking about; I saw these today.
Beckham as the #4 WR (Shepherd at 43).
Barkley as #6 RB.
Engram as #4 TE.
And Eli as . . . . #24 QB. Man, you would think that if you've got those highly-rated weapons, SOMEBODY'S going to be getting them the ball to justify those ratings.
No harm. I actually looked at QB last on these ratings, and it made me laugh.
Hate to say it, but I doubt anyone in a 12-team fantasy football league drafts Eli to be their starting QB, so then basically you have 12 backups and Eli is one of them.
If he's 18 or 24 it doesn't make much difference to me.
If you like Eli for your fantasy football team you should be happy with the negative rankings, should mean you could get him later in the draft.
I'm pissed everyone is rating Barkley so high.
He figures to go #1 overall in my keeper league and I'm trying to work out a trade to move up and get him. I kind of hoped he'd be lower ranked.

I am in a keeper league (one of a ton) and in this league we keep between 2 and 4 players. Every team has to keep 2. The first 2 rounds of the draft are for keepers. The 3rd and 4th rounds are where there is some deciding. If you keep a third player then that is your third round pick. If you keep a 4th player then that is your 4th round pick. The fifth round starts the draft where everybody has their pick.
I had a rough year with injuries last year but my two keepers are Gurley and DJ. I got Gurley in the draft last year. I kept two players and Gurley wasn't kept. In fairness, the guy who didn't keep him had a stacked team. I still would have kept him but almost everybody was down on Gurley entering last year. I didn't give a shit and drafted him.
I also have the first pick in the draft so I am only keeping 2 players so I can get the first pick of players not kept. I am taking Barkley regardless of who is not kept this year. Having Gurley, DJ, and Barkley is going to be fun. And, yes, we can start 3 RBs. Our starting lineups are as follows:
QB
RB
WR
WR
TE
RB/WR/TE
RB/WR/TE
K
D
It is a 12 team PPR league.
I could have kept Gurley for a 2nd round pick or Michael Thomas for a 10th and Jordan Howard for an 8th.
So I kept Thomas and Howard. I also could have kept Tyreek Hill in the 8th over one of Thomas or Howard.
I don't regret it, I lost in the finals, but many my team was stacked.
It sort of evened out though, I won my other league on the backs of AB and Gurley who were my 1st and 2nd round picks.

Oh, Eli's not a regular starter in any normal-sized league, agreed. But the guy just ahead of him was Trubisky. C'mon.

Trubisky is in a great situation. He's in a great offense and has a ton of weapons now. He is probaby where he should be ranked with upside. Eli hasn't been fantasy relevant in awhile. Until we see otherwise he is probably where he should be as well.

no.
Doug, in our league you are right about 2014 (9th) and 2015 (10th). In 2016 he was 21st and in 2017 he was 23rd.
I agree we all expect him to be much improved with this offense but we are also Giants fans. I have no issue with him being ranked as a low QB2 right now. If this is an investment, which it really is, the price is low and I'd definitely invest because of the upside. But for what has happened the last two years and with the uncertainty surrounding our OL I don't have an issue with where he is ranked. In terms of the OL, I agree that it is improved but until we see it come together everybody should still have a wait and see approach especially if Flowers is still staring on this OL.
We'll see how they look in pre-season, whether Odell plays, injuries, etc.
Let someone else draft Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady in the 3rd/4th rounds. Value wise, I'd rather gamble on a Matt Stafford in the 9th/10th round and on Eli in the 12th/13th round.
If I have to watch one more game with a "Giants fan" saying "Yeah, I hope Zeke scores 3 TDs but the Giants still win the game" I'm gonna puke.
To hell with fantasy ratings.

I bench players going against the Giants when I play fantasy. If I had Zeke he would sit two games per season...etc
With Eli and those 2.... I want to stack my other positions.

Not me, I'm waaaay to competitive for that. Sitting a player that you have no control over because he's playing your favorite team is silly imo.

I never really understood this. It's not like putting the player in your lineup means you have to wear their jersey or root for them at the bar. It's just a set it and forget it thing for me. Benching players because they're playing the Giants doesn't change anything about how they'll perform against the Giants.
Of course, the Giants always come before fantasy. That part goes without saying.

They are money leagues. I don't like to watch the Giants and think "oh well at least they got crushed by the guy on my team." I don't care that much because the money isn't anything to get excited about. Only time I make the consideration is the playoffs.

Dep, that sounds like the kiss of death for your team before the season even started. Mahomes has nice upside but in a two QB league. I would hope to have him as my number three. QBs are gold in those leagues. I hate 2 QB leagues. I am also not a big Tannehill fan either.

I am hoping he drops so I can snag him as my 2nd QB. I am keeping mahommes (18th round) and Tannehill (25th round).

It’s an IDP league so you need depth EVERYWHERE. Mahommes and Tanny provide huge value at their placement. In the first 5 rounds, 18-20 QBs will go. So if everyone goes that route... I can be stacked everywhere.

I get your philosophy but does that work? I do like IDPs but that shouldn't change the fact that I have never seen a 2 QB league where a team with not top tier QBs wins.
I had Ben and brees and came in last haha.
Like anything else, it’s a crapshoot. I am very high in mahommes and Eli. Tanny value in last round is ridiculous. Even if he is subpar... he would still be a 11-12 round selection.

I can't do that. No matter how much it pains me, I play whoever is supposed to have the best game.
