The Baltimore Orioles, barring a last minute snag, will trade All-Star shortstop Manny Machado to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday, according to a baseball official with direct knowledge of the deal.
The official spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because the trade has not been finalized.
Now that he has been traded the Dodgers can't make him a qualifying offer which means that he won't cost a comp pick to whomever signs him. The rules are that the player must spend the entire season with a team in order to qualify for a tender.
Peter Angelos isnt really that hands on with the Os anymore. His sons have pretty much taken over ownership responsibilities a la Hal and Hank.
