News at 11! This isn't the first or last statistic that the 2017 Giants undoubtedly ranked at the bottom of. Now, if the 2018 Cowboys or Eagles or Redskins have 26 or so players on IR they too will rank near the bottom of a bunch of statistical categories.

In Mac And Hillin the draft I have no doubt that we add linebackers next season. I have faith that Carter is starting at the end of the season and we add another line early next season.

We know they have work to do in this area, but they won’t be terrible if key guys stay healthy.

how a team will do under a new DC and a new scheme is basically an exercise in futility.

all you want but you wont find an NFL team with fewer pass rushers than what the Giants have right now.

That said at least they have some tough run defenders. Nothing close to the 2015 D which was the worst collection of players Ive seen

or draft them either. The rush will have to come in the form of blitzes. I dont know how much you can expect from OV, he has been unspectacular. Where/who are the pass rushers on this team?

I think some are over rating the D based on the DC. Yes he has been a good DC and I think he was a good signing but you still have to have the players. Our secondary at this point looks to be weaker than in the past. We have Apple at starter and a bunch of no name or older vets after that. I have no doubt we can stop the run, but if there is no rush our secondary will get chewed up.

...we have the big bodied disruptors to free up the speed guys. We have Vernon. Those are all good things to start with. Can Carter have an impact as a rookie? That's a critical component to our pass rush imo. Can Landon Collins surprise with how he will be close to the Los and set loose by Betcher at times. 29th seems too low for a coordinator with a penchant for having his defenses ranked in the top half of the league in pressure.

We will struggle early no doubt. Unless this team and its coaches are very special. Which is not usually the case. Another long year coming up.

the way that they do. He played in the system . He wasn’t able to generate pressure . The Giants have Vernon and maybe Carter . Other than those two the pressures will have to come from scheme . And I think that over the second half of the season , the pass rush will get markedly better

The team was terrible last year, have made a number of personnel changes that will hopefully improve them, and they are changing their entire D-scheme. Until they actually suit-up and play, there is really nothing to back a higher ranking at this point.

I believe our front 7 will be solid against the run. We are at least one PASS RUSHER and one CB away from being a very good defense, IMHO. But you can't buy those types of players very easily.

You have to hope young guys flourish and play above any expectations. That simple.
