Fun thing to do in offseason. Who would make your 53? Only caveat is you have had to see them play. Since 86’ is my first season watching... I have to leave out many all timers. This years rookies would be ineligible.
QB (2) - Eli Manning and Phil Simms.
This is a pretty easy one.
RB (5) - Tiki Barber, Rodney Hampton, Ahmad Bradshaw, Dave Meggett, Mo Carathon.
No disrespect to Jacobs or Peyton Hillis haha... but Meggets return ability gives him nod.
WR (5) - Odell Beckham, Amani Toomer, Plaxico Burress, Victor Cruz, Hakeem Nicks.
Thought about adding a 6th, but Steve Smith couldn’t make cut.
TE (3) - Mark Bavaro, Jeremy Shockey, Howard Cross.
Cross over Engram because Cross was a dominant blocker.
OL (9) - Jumbo Elliott, William Roberts, Bart Oates, Ron Stone, Chris Snee, Kareem McKenzie, Rich Seubert, Shaun O’Hara, David Diehl.
Diehl was my last guy, but some of the guys from 80s could easily overtake him as I wasn’t a novice to their abilities.
DL (8) - Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, Osi Umeniyora, Leonard Marshall, Keith Hamilton, Damon Harrison, Jason Pierre Paul, Jim Burt
Drawing blanks on other possibilities. George Martin was at end of his career.
LB (8) - Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, Gary Reasons, Pepper Johnson, Harry Carson, Jessie Armstead, Antonio Pierce, Byron Hunt
Just a loaded list!
CB (5) - Mark Collins, Everson Walls, Jason Sehorn, Corey Webster, Janoris Jenkins.
Wanted to include Terrell Thomas/DRC but they missed the cut.
S (4) - Terry Kinard, Myron Guyton, Landon Collins, Shaun Williams
Feels like I am missing someone.
ST (1) - Reyna Thompson
K (1) - Matt Bahr
P (1) - Jeff Feagles
LS (1) - Zac DeOssie
I know this would be harder for the ole time folks but have at it!
Great Call. Totally forgot about him.
Never saw Huff play. Had to be players you have seen.
Take a look at Strahan and for a young guy, it's no contest. But for older guys, would you put him ahead of Robustelli? In fact, the whole def line of him, Grier, Katcavitch and Little Mo might just take the entire prize.
I think it becomes really difficult with the rules changing as much as they have. Would guys back then play as well as they did under todays restrictions? Tell a defensive back not to touch a guy going out on a pattern if he passes five yards? Don't hit the QB too high or too low or, heaven forbid, go near his head?
Spider Lockhart - pick someone, Spider was the best of the bunch
John Mendhall at DT over someone, needs a little thought
Brad Van Pelt at LB - over Gary Reasons
Was alive but don't remember Gifford, but obviously those who did will have him here.
WR- I'd add Homer Jones and delete Cruz (too short of a career)
TE- I'd add Bob Tucker and delete Howard Cross (I never got the love for him)
DL- I'd add Erik Howard and delete JPP (too many games taken off. Thanks for 2011 though)
LB- I'd add Brad Van Pelt and delete Byron Hunt who does not belong anywhere near this list.
CB I'd add Mark Haynes and delete Everyone Walls (not a great player as a Giant)
S- Add Spider Lockhart delete Shaun Williams
ST- Add Joe Morrison delete Reyna Thompson ( a very good player but Joe should be on team and is more versatile).

Add to that Roosevelt Brown on the OL and Rosey Grier on the DL.
Definitely ahead of Walls imo

WR (5) - Odell Beckham, Amani Toomer, Plaxico Burress, Del Shofner, Hakeem Nicks,
TE (3) - Mark Bavaro, Jeremy Shockey, Bob Tucker
OL (9) - Jumbo Elliott, Darrell Dess, Greg Larson, Ray Weitecha, Chris Snee, Kareem McKenzie, Rosy Brown, Jack Stroud, Brad Benson
DL (8) - Michael Strahan, Justin Tuck, Leonard Marshall, Andy Robustelli, Jim Katcavage, Little Mo, Rosy Grier
LB (8) - Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, Harland Svare, Armstead, Carson, Huff(though I thought he was overrated), Brad Van Pelt, Reasons
CB (5) - Erich Barnes(our best ever, imo), Collins, Dick Lynch, Willie Williams, Sehorn
S (4) - Spider Lockhart (he did play CB as well), Patton, Tunnell, Bruce Maher

I like your list
Couple of things:
-Gotta put Simms over Tittle
- Gogolak over Summerall
- Love seeing Snee on there, especially seeing Hernandez compared to him
- Drawing a blank on Bruce Maher
Remove Shockey -complete ass & overrated
I'm thinking I might remember him from Paper Lion, one of my favorites. Didn't remember him on Giants.

agree Troy Archer was about to become a Howie Long-type.
I wouldn t begin to do it, because as a fan since 56 other than L. T. It is too difficult to pick only one guy per position.
For example: as good as Eric Howard was as a nose tackle, how do you pick him over John Mendhall.
It’s about clutch, not percentages. Summerall was money when it mattered, imo. Same with Bahr
very underrated player
Quote:
Summerall didn't even make 50% of his FGs and Gogolak's percentage was barely over 50%.

Summerall's kick in the snow to beat the Browns in '58 playoff game was the greatest I've ever seen.

Can’t disagree, but Tynes 47-yarder with a frozen foot in -23 degree wind chill in the 2008 NFCC, wasn’t too shoddy either..😊
No love for Dave Jennings or Sean Landetta?

You don'T...
Dave Jennings Punter
Pete Gogolak Kicker
And my two absolutely favorite picks:
Saquon Barkley
Will Hernandez
