I started a mostly for fun league with some neighbors last year and we had only 10 teams. With only 10 teams, the teams are sooo stacked, so we tried starting 2 QB's, which threw in a nice wrinkle and made things more difficult. This year, there is some kick back to the 2 QB thing. Does anyone have any ideas to liven things up so teams are not so stacked? IDP is another one that has been thrown around. I have never done IDP before.
Instead of 2 WR/2RB/TE/FLEX you can do 3WR/2RB/TE/2FLEX or something like that
QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, FLEX x2, TE, DEF and 6 Bench spots I believe.
You still have to draft and start the right players
And that's before considering injuries, under-performing players, etc.
if it were an 8 team league sure then I'd say you need to monkey around with the rules b/c everyone can have pro-bowlers at every spot, but 10 team IMO not as much.

To me, 14 teams is too many. WHen rosters are that thin, one injury to a top pick gives you no chance. I like 10 team leagues with the above rosters personally. 12 teams are good too with less roster spots.

Agree with this, 12 is perfect # I think, but with 10 team it's definitely not usually "all teams are stacked" - especially with that roster configuration which we usually do close to -
10 team is a little more forgiving for injuries, poor drafting, etc. since you can usually get players on waivers. My 10-team league has small benches so there's a fight for waivers - especially around bye weeks, which makes the FAAB for waivers even more strategic.
LOL, and you gave Arc so much shit for going winless in 12-team. Or maybe it was be who gave Arc shit.
I will admit last year in the BBI league around week 3 when my team was 0 - 2 and my 1st two picks of Jordy Nelson and CJ Anderson looked like shit I was a little nervous.
And Yahoo had my team projected for 10 - 4 and 1st place (or something like that).
Just, if you're going to have multiple QBs... set their scoring so that mid tier QBs score similarly to mid-tier WRs.
I think RB scoring should always be a little higher than other positions because drafters should be compensated for the significantly higher injury risk at the position.
Avoid IDP -- it sucks. Anything you cant easily track in a box score on your phone should be avoided.
