NFT: Top 1980's movies

GiantsUA : 7/19/2018 4:57 pm
Two of my favorites

The Pope of Greenwich Village - Mickey Rourke and Eric Roberts best movie. Daryl Hanna looks good with no shirt on as well.

Repo Man - Emilio Estevez, Harry Dean Stanton, great stuff.

Yes. The 2 I thought off the top of my head were The Shining and Predator.
Many awesome 80's movies already mentioned
pjcas18 : 7/19/2018 7:27 pm : link
but I think 80's the John Cusack trilogy immediately comes to mind.

Better off Dead
One Crazy Summer
The Sure Thing

and then some other oddball movies and John Hughes movies like (and I'm sure there are a lot of dupes in my list)

Just one of the guys (there was a guy on here named Rick Morehouse, I never asked, but I'm sure that's where it came from)

Fletch
Christmas Story
Raising Arizona
Karate Kid
Revenge of the Nerds
Stripes
Summer Rental
Breakfast Club
Sixteen Candles
Weird Science
Home Alone (not sure if 80's)
Uncle Buck
Vacation
Real Genius
Footloose
Ghostbusters
Risky Business
War games
Ferris Bueller
Beverly Hills Cop
Spies Like Us
The Man with one red shoe

I'm sure this is the nostalgia talking and probably even a little get-off-my-lawn-ish but they just don't make movies like that any more.

"I want my two dollars". For

The Sure Thing is one of my faves for sure.

I probably should be embarrassed to say this, but I named my 1st son "Nick" (i.e. Nicholas) back in 91' because I so liked Cusack's bit about naming a kid Elliott.

Conan the Barbarian

Conan is a brilliant comedy, and one of Hollywood's greatest all time actor Arnold in his prime.

Empires Strikes Back is a masterpiece, and The Thing and Aliens flawed masterpieces - I didn't care for the big climatic battle in the end, too Hollywoody.
Considering the 80's had some of the most
barens : 7/20/2018 10:27 am : link
epic movies ever, it's almost impossible to create a list because it will be too long. But I'll give it a go..

Comedies-Caddyshack, Trading Places, Porky's were some of my faves.

Action-Flash Gordon(really sentimental about that one, waiting for some kind of remake), Aliens, Batman, Raiders

And that's really just scratching the surface.
Has Die Hard been mentioned?
