Close to a full Mets team on the field for a couple of weeks. Hasn’t been the case since mid-May. Familia expected to get traded before the weekend is out however.

Of course. Lol.
Former Mets prospect > former Mets non prospect > Mets bench player > former Met > Met again!
Defense only glove that can’t hit. AAAA scrub.
Looking at the pitching matchups for this series and it's a big crazy that one of these teams is 21.5 game better than the other one.
I thought for sure we'd be seeing more Wade especially after his three hit game last week and Boone saying he's earning more playing time. I think he's played once since then, if that. Why even say that if you're not going to follow through on it?

I'm hoping it's a final hurrah for Walker. As in, they're giving him every opportunity before they package him with whatever prospects are going out for a SP. Walker and a lotto ticket for JA Happ.

Over Wade again. They're giving this guy every opportunity and then some to show something. Anyone else wondering why so much Walker when he's really not produced much?

Im wondering if its Wade they are trying to package. Maybe if the last thing a team remembers is the consecutive games he hit in they will be more likely to accept a combo of him and lesser prospects in place of a bigger name.

Could be chopper but doesn't it make sense to ride the hot guy? If they were going to include him in a trade, getting more playing time and doing well would increase his value. If they were looking to trade him, selling high off a couple of good games isn't as good as off a couple of good weeks.
Plus, he can friggin help this team win now as he might very well have finally figured out his bat at the major league level. That's what bugs me in all of this. He's got a better glove than Walker too plus brings a speed element. I can honestly see him being a big plus come playoff time in addition to helping now.
No but Wade was hitting pretty well too.
My main thing is Boone said Wade has earned more playing time but as of yet failed to give it to him. I figured for sure tonight vs a righty he'd get the start and tomorrow vs the lefty it would be Walker in there.
I'm just trying to figure out the thought process of who plays and when/why.
Meanwhile, with horseshoe still planted firmly up their asses, Boston opens with dreadful Detroit, now minus their best pitcher due to Fulmer being placed on the DL.

Well at least they're on the road to start the second half even though it does look like they've got a couple of cupcakes in Detroit and Baltimore.
Dealing with a family problem involving his wife, in Venezuela I believe. He's been on leave of absence.
Before the break he was away from the Scranton team tending to a family matter. The Yanks haven't said anything about what that matter was but only his family is the priority right now.
Be nice to see Thor again!
it's funny cuz it's true.
Laugh to keep from cryin' etc.
Sheffield would be up if CAshman wasn't dangling him in the event he can get a really big fish. He calls him up and he stinks and that card is played.
Yeah but I heard Boone on with Francessa today and he said they wanted to basically give CC and Sevy what amounts to a skipped start as far as time off, and the other three will have an extra couple of days more than normal rest.
Plus he said looking at the next few weeks, this worked out the best for setting up the rotation. Didn't come right out and say it but it sets up to have Gray miss the Sox, which I think was a big factor.

isn't cutting it. Unfortunately, we don't have anyone to plug into his spot, so for now we're stuck with him.

Nah, I don't think he's dangling him. I think he wants to give him a little more time, and maybe plug him into the rotation in Sept, if not sooner. JMHO.
Its at least worth watching...
Fangraphs says 97.9 average 4 seam velo v. 99.6 last year.
I know that's nitpicky, but velocity declines are concerning.
Thought that was a little fly.
WB Yo!
