Enough already, you literally only post ripping Sanchez.
Almost feels
dune69 : 7/21/2018 3:36 pm : link
like Sanchez doesn't see the ball and just tries to time the pitcher's arm. I've seen him locked in and hitting everything. Never understood how a hitter gets this far away from his ability.

What is the timetable for Jordan Montgomery's return?
Milton : 7/21/2018 3:39 pm : link
Start of next season? All Star break? 2020?
Gawd, I so love seeing Bautista as a scrub
Greg from LI : 7/21/2018 3:45 pm : link
Montgomery won't be back until at least next year's ASH. Teams are more cautious with TJ recovery now than they used to be
I would imagine
Kyle in NY : 7/21/2018 3:45 pm : link
it’s all star break at the absolute earliest. It’d be a bonus if we saw him at all next season, unfortunately. We really miss him

Let’s get a few runs here so Acevedo can pitch
Admit the truth Yankee fans!!

You know you wish you had Anthony Swarzak. Especially at only 7 million per year.
Hah...we DID have Anthony Swarzak
Greg from LI : 7/21/2018 3:48 pm : link
And dumped him in short order

from Z? It looks like his is 4.82 to me on fangraphs. How is it a “major stretch” to say that’s near 5? I don’t understand why you say stuff like they sometimes...

Guys who pitch to contact and walk 3.5 per 9 = #5 starter to me. I hope we can upgrade his spot.

It’s 4.71. Look at the top bar of his page for the most recent score and again his ERA has been in the 3s all year AND he had a pretty decent show of success in 2016 over a fairly large sample. My comment about what you said being a stretch was that we are “punting” if we have Matz as our 4 and Vargas/Oswalt as 5. That’s ridiculous if the rotation is still headed by Thor, DeGrom, and Wheeler but we can talk about this more off the game thread if you prefer.

Kidding obviously, but that was one of the strangest 9th innings I’ve ever seen. Chapman had been phenomenal, figure that’s just shaking off the rust.

Phew
Glad we held on.

But the confidence in this team to starting to get lower and lower, especially if Chapman is an issue.

Good catch, Yankees need to be careful with this thing. The bullpen could survive a Chapman DL stint if that’s what’s necessary

With the exception of Holder and Betances, none of the relievers have looked particularly good after the layoff. Warren was awful. It took Green 700 pitches to get 3 outs. Robertson wasn't good today. Granted, Chappy was exceptionally bad today, but I wouldn't jump to any conclusions yet.
Can Boone move Sanchez to the bottom third of the order until

How do we know that? Maybe Mickey Mouse wanted Meso to hit there.
Umm because he started Cabrera at DH
MetsAreBack : 7/21/2018 6:29 pm : link
And then when he was tossed prematurely for no reason on a very close call.... he put in our 4th string catcher scrub instead of a guy that apparently can't even DH for a few days in a row. I understand being careful but when it's 7-6 in the 9th inning with two on and no out... and a guy making almost $30 mil can't even DH the rest of the way ...

Give me a fucking break. This organization is the worst.

I get your frustration and agree with your post except the first part.

He wasn't tossed prematurely,he was tossed immediately for his action of throwing his bat to the ground in frustration after being called out on the swing. The correct call btw on the swing and it wasn't really all that close.

Guys get tossed every single time for what he did, whether it be a bat being slammed,a helmet, glove whatever. Those actions get you tossed every single time.

Sometime this week during the series with the Rays in Tampa. Doesn't sound like it'll be the first game though. More like Tues or Wednesday from what I've heard as long as he doesn't have a setback.

It was absolutely borderline. I don't know what game you were watching though I'm guessing you were pulling for the Yankees hence that opinion. Anyway, my frustration is with Cespedes not with Cabrera or the one ump call

Just because I'm a Yankee fan doesn't mean I can't form an objective opinion based on what I see. Funny, I never accused you of seeing it the way you did because of the team you're rooting for.

Anyway my main point wasn't that. It was I disagree with you stating he was tossed prematurely for no reason. He was tossed as soon as he slammed his bat down, not before so the timing was when it should have been. There's no coming back from that reaction, and the ump didn't act prematurely or even overreact. Players get tossed every time for that.

It's also the reason he was tossed, so saying he was tossed for no reason is not true.
