until then they have pretty much no leverage.
DRC can still play, I'd want him

Bryant no.

Character probably plays a role in both of these guys remaining unsigned. I think DRC can still play and someone will get a solid CB for cheap when they sign him (won't be us).. but I said constantly that Bryant was a shell of himself and wanted nothing to do with him when he was released. Well, it seems like most other teams felt the same way.

Someone will give him a shot, but no one is going to commit anything of significance. I think the end is very near for him.

Its really a shame tge way things ended with DRC and us. I got the sense that he enjoyed his time here. Adding him would really change the outlook for our team. Maybe bonuses for games played?

I dunno. I want to think both sides are giving their best poker face and allowing him to miss most of camp before bringing him back. He can definitely still be a very effective corner. As of last year, he was apparently still the fastest guy on tyr team.
Both will be post

Game 1 roster pickups. I can see DRC joining a team in camp, but Dez has to many injury concerns and teams will want to dump him with no repercussions if he’s just too beatup to play at a high level anymore.
Pretty sure

that Hankins is still unsigned.

I can’t believe this guy can’t get a job. I’m sure a team or two offered Hankins a contract. Maybe he doesn’t even want to play anymore... weird situation.
With Barkley signing

Giants will have very little cap space and more than likely will have to restructure someone to be able to sign players during the season due to injuries. Dez and DRC won't be coming here.

I think we actually have the least amount of space in the league right now - but it's obviously very fluid and can change quickly. The $15M of dead money from the prorated bonus on JPP is rough but it's just this year.

Hoping to see OBJ get done sooner than later - they can maneuver it

Not sure what will happen with Eli - but cutting him next year saves 17M, so what happens this year will obviously go a long way towards how they approach that.
Would love to bring back DRC

and its a position of need for us. He'd make a big difference. I'd feel a lot more comfortable with Jackrabbit, Bad Apple, Beal, DRC, and the rest than now.
Giants moved out certain veterans for a reason

the uniform, almost everything would be different for DRC here. New coach. New system.

People thinking the familiarity is an advantage are forgetting that there isn't any familiarity anymore.

People who I trust and respect on this board had been saying for years DRC was on his way out - and likely not his choice. Both the timing of his departure and the underlying whispers why jibed with what they said.

If true, his return is very, very unlikely.
I agree DRC rounds out the secondary nicely

That was a huge area of need just 3 weeks ago, but with Apple, Jenkins, Beal, DRC I'd feel fine going into the season.

The only position left I would feel iffy about is RT.

Don't need Dez.
What whispers about DRC?

Perhaps the two best Giants' defensive players publicly protested when he was released. Harrison took it to Twitter:

The realest in the building in East Rutherford. Wow. There isn’t alot ppl across the league like him. A baller and a real one smfh

I don’t consider a lot of ppl friends. Been in the league going on 7 years and I’ve come across maybe 4-6 guys who I consider friends. That man is one of them..

That line is getting old. It’s 52 other people who should be asked to do the same thing if we are keeping it real here. Some don’t even deserve the ask.

Collins tweeted:

Ganna miss seeing @drc_41 and @TheHumble_21 pregame ritual

He also told the press that there were a bunch of defensive players that needed to be released, but DRC wasn't one of them. He played hard all season.

DRC's tension with McAdoo was due to his having to agree to play the slot and take barely more than half the defensive snaps the year after he made All Pro. And Apple who took his outside spot sucked.

DRC as cool as he may appear never counted on not having a new team before training camp opened. He probably would have his mind changed about a pay cut. Seen so many Giants overvalue themselves when choosing free agency and ending up with a retirement ceremony.
