We do one every year and I’m a bit later than usual for the post to start getting people who want to join. Please post if you want to join the franchise, your Gamertag, and what team(s) you would be interested in.
guys I will be back for another run in madden but wont be able to actually play until early September since I am at St. Jude with my little girl. However, I have been playing it since early July the hospital was given a early copy for the sick kids to play but it was on PS4 so I hope the transition back to Xbox is not too hard.
Mik99999 this madden play style takes a while to figure out and Eli is absolutely one of the worst Qbs in the game so you may have some challenges with the Giants
As for teams I will take a team in whatever Division that Bad intel wants to play in.
Redskins....as much as I want to, not this time.
Rams.....as tempting as it is with that stacked team, nope.
Jaguars.......great young team, not this year.
I was hoping to grab the Browns this year but if the guy above who claimed is firm I'll figure something out. I'll be in Germany for two weeks end of September and France for almost three but the airb&bs have high speed internet so bringing my box. Had to by a European one so I didn't have to lug a converter with me
I know the game comes out next Friday, but we won't start the franchise until Week 1 of the real season because we always wait for the final preseason roster update.
In speaking with Colts n Bolts, last year CPU trades were allowed with some restrictions and it seemed to be something everyone liked doing.
I have a proposal for CPU trades in the franchise and wanted to see what people thought and if agreed to, we could vote on it taking effect.
Proposed rule:
ONE cpu and human trade per season for a player. This trade CANNOT be for rookies in any season. This trade cannot be for a player 90 or higher. I.e. you like a 3rd year QB who is 89 on a CPU team, you may try and trade for him, if that same QB was a 90, you cannot trade
I like it. Trades do need to be limited so that’s a good rule. Â
Now what about draft picks. Are they allowed to be traded and trade for? Leagues I’ve done in the past we have allowed it but tend to limit the amount of picks in each round you are allowed to have .
Of computer trading. I think game logic has always been bad and they dont value Madden Assets like a player would. And while those rules would limit potentially bad trades it wouldn't be hard to get an 89 rated second year player for some package of rookies and picks.
My vote would be no computer trading, at least for the first season or two then to move into it if/when things start getting stale.
As we discuss the potential CPU trade rule, I also compiled a list of owners as of now and teams. Let me know if there are any mistakes;
Mike – Giants
Colts/Bolts – Chargers
Prototype – Jags
PolarAsh – 49ers
JT – Ravens
Bad Intel – Browns
Jackson – Packers
Jerm Dog – Texans
Mr. B - Colts

I agree. Once we did cpu tradung last year the competition against cpu went down immensely. Wait until 3rd season. trading among players is all we need for now
I am against CPU trades the computer logic is never very smart.
However I think we should have unlimited Human trades and I think we should turn the trade deadline off. Mainly because it takes weeks for humans to come up with a deal and with some owners that take bad teams that like to tank the season it would allow them to move assets late in the season to acquire draft picks form guys getting ready for playoff pushes.
Also with imported draft classes Draft picks will be more valuable as you will have a actual idea on who you are drafting.
Finally I know we are going to wait for the official madden roster for week 1 after cuts but with the import roster feature there are a few guys that will have complete roster update ready long before the madden one is released. I know a accurate 90 man roster will be coming out by a madden fan club shortly that is expected to have added 300 players to the game that are not in the release copy of the game. Its something to think about.
Keeping the trade deadline on is good because you can still trade in off-season.
If we started league with the release of the game it could add some intrigue on who we decide to cut from our team instead of the cpu. If we did it we should schedule one night where we do sim each week of preseason and cut accoridngly. Then start week 1 right away
I do not agree with CPU trades the first couple of years. However, I proposed Omething last year that I think we should consider, trading of first rd picks with the CPU. Let me explain the process. Say there are 10 people in the league and we finish in the top 10 spots. The person at the te th spot could trade for the first overall pick with the CPU. He would have to insude his first rd draft pick and can only trade for the CPUs pick. The same process gets repeated for the rest of the league. So if I win the suoerbowl and finish as the best player drafting at 32, I can trade up to number 10. Regardless if the human players use the trade I cannot draft any hire then 10. This way we still get the really good talent but still weigh it the same way. Just. Y thoughts

WTF Jackson I have been playing with it for a month now it works just like it did with Madden 14 when we were able to import the NCAA 14 draft class over for us to draft that was the one where Manziel went 2nd overall. Now I agree you wont find as many studs in the 6th and 7th because we will know who these guys really are and will take the good players much earlier but in addition you wont have every draft class loaded with a ton of 99 speed guys or a bunch of stud Qbs making them much more valuable when you have one.

Either way, I liked the draft going as it normally goes. The only part I see difficult is the trading up for that pick could cost alot.
Vibrant discussion. Looks like the votes in favor of CPU trades are outweighed by those that oppose it.
With regard to the Draft trades, swapping picks into the top 10. I actually like the idea and concept, but I do not think it can be executed well. Thus, I am voting against its implementation.
My thought process is that if we all finished with picks 23-32, in a 10 owner league, and then allowed folks to trade up to 1-10, what happens if the person who could pick at the #4 spot (but finished in the #26 spot) either does not want to trade or can't trade (i.e. they have attempted to make a trade with the CPU but they can't pull it off). Then we have a scenario where there is potential for the Super Bowl Champs to pick at spot #10, 16 spots higher than the theoretically worse team. Seems unbalanced to me.
I would be on board with the idea, if we had a policy in place stopping the trade ups when/if a team decides not to trade or can't. For instance, if the 3 worse teams can trade and take picks 1-3, but the 4th team can't, then the trade ups all stop from 4-10. And, while I like all this, it seems overly complicated.
I like different parts of all the different trading ideas and I think we will implement them down the line. I actually kind of want to do a normal season and offseason first.
On a side note, I’m hoping I will be able to use Verrett and Hunter Henry in our season because you aren’t allowed to use injured players in head to head ranked.

Turn off pre existing injuries when you start the league that way every team is at full strength.
1st off....You Suck
2nd You shouldn't be able to use Henry or Verrett. They were injured prior to preseason game 1 which is where our 2018 Journey Begins. Keep it authentic
what does that App do? I wish we could recruit a few more active players I remember when we used to do the fantasy draft leagues we almost had up to 20 active players back then but of course Madden online leagues where a new thing back then
If we end up with no one else joining us, we all picked teams within the same division ie AFC West and Mfc north. That way we all get at least 6 to 7 human games a season
It would likely have to be divisions that have teams that are interesting from top to bottom of the division. Maybe NFC South? AFC South? All the teams are solid and none are completely awful.
I'm ok either way. Computer games are easier to play, human games are more fun but sometimes hard to schedule. We will also run into the fact that most playoff games will be vs computers in that scenario....
the Band APP is a forum like this with a calendar to schedule events as well. you are able to post the games and see who plays who and when and allows you to work out a time. you can also create a place to talk trades or whatever else you might want. a lot of players these days like joining leagues/guilds that have the app.
I think we need more players. ill put it out to my friends list to see if anyone wants in
I know its not easy to get everybody together but if we did a fantasy draft league then all the teams would be interesting since they were drafted by the owner.
I knew someone was going to switch to them. I was debating on switching to the Raiders to guarantee more human games but not anymore. Maybe I will switch to the Rams and give Mike a run in the NFC, hmmm.......
If you don't have one, the league name is BBI2018. The password is: giants.
I'm pretty sure I got everyone. And FA should be worst team to best team in order of priority but I have no way to police it. I also don't have a way to add DRC to the Raiders and there was one other FA that has a team but is on there still. Try not to add them. I added Gates to the Chargers because they actually signed him. There isn't much in the way of FA outside of that.
I also had to start us in Week 1 of preseason because when I tried it any other way the rosters were all messed up. Once everybody is in and has made their cuts I will advance to regular season.
Just finished playing R6 and saw you create league. Considering I am easily the worst team and I won’t be on for the next few days likely I picked up some free agents. On a few I dropped guys rated higher than I picked up(I loathe Jonathan Stewart). There is a corner named Webster who I believe is on the Texans as well to Austins point. The Giants roster completely sucks and I am not looking forward to my week one game with Jags
I didn't pick anyone up despite my overall being less than most. Dez and Navarro Bowman were gone already. There may be 1 or two worth signing for me at least
Are both solid and would have pick them up if not for them both being on teams. So whoever said they picked them up will likely have to drop them.
To Jags owner I'm not sure when Colts will sim to start reg season as he needs to get everyone in and cuts done. When he sets it up we will play but should have some time Thursday night(I'm west coast) and figure it will be a day or two before Colts sims.
Intel, I don't think we are playing preseason. I am likely out the next day or two as well. If it is still in week 1 preseason and I see you on I will shoot you a message.
Mr. B is the Bears and the game messed up and didn't put Khalil Mack on the team. He and I are going to work on fixing that tonight to make it like the trade that happened.
We are waiting for Polar to make his cuts which likely wont get done until tomorrow.... So assuming it is simmed forward tomorrow night at some point what days/times can you play. I know you are east coast and I am west so I want to get a feel for your availability to see if we can make it work.
Available most evenings during the week. What am I 2 or 3 hours ahead of you? I can usually stay up a bit better on tuesdays thursdays but I can make Most nights work. Some mornings I’m available too.
With the new Jags owner. Back and forth game, needing a late drive and two point conversion to take it into overtime where I got a pick and great field position to escape with a victory. It was alot of fun.
If people are looking to stockpile some picks or make trades hit me up as I'm always down to trade. QB, OL, Lb, could use any of them. Will entertain any offer.

Like trying to trade your entire draft for Aaron Rodgers

Mik tyrod is available

Just had a big trade between bad intel and I. I shipped out Malik Jackson and Leonard Fournette for Tyrod Taylor, as well as a 1st 2nd and a 3rd. That being said, still looking for some line help and or more picks. Willing to trade some of my recievers other than Cole and Chark if anyone is interested.
How are these trades getting accepted? Draft picks dont have crazy value on Madden like they do in real life.
Malik Jackson and Fournette for an average(but fast) qb and three picks?
Jalen Ramsey and a 3rd for two rookie corners and a 1st? Ramsey is one of the most valuable defensive players in the game, and he goes for two corners not nearly as good and a jump of two rounds?
Then the Eric Berry trade makes no sense either. Dude is a legit stud safety and basically went for scraps.
I just don't understand the logic in these trades, the Jags were built to win a championship, with their D I imagine I could hold any human player to 10 or less, and you traded away your best player and a real good Dlineman. The Chiefs dont havce a ton of talent in the back end and you trade a Beast safety? Safeties are important especially when you are weak elsewhere as they help in the running and passing game.
Didn’t fit how I wanted to run the ball and tyrod was an immediate upgrade over bottles with his mobility. I like Malik but I have Dareus and I wanted to get Tavan Bryan some XP and playing time. He was their first rounder this year.
As far as Ramsey he plays corner for me. ya that was tough to give him up I really didn’t want to. But when I substitute him in for a player with Star and another with quick they will be great together. And I just shut out the pats with those corners.
As far as the draft. I love the draft. Hitting on potential young studs is a blast. This year it’s a little harder to find these players I think, but I’m other franchises I still find plenty of studs to start for me. I have 5 first round picks now.
For you maybe it isn’t worth it , that’s fine. For what I want to run on offense and defense I think it worked out great for me. I assume this is a league that’ll continue at least a few seasons which should make it worth it.
While I still believe you got hosed in the deals, I do appreciate that you had a well thought out reason for doing what you did. Time will tell on whether it was a smart decision. I really enjoyed our first game and definitely look forward to our next matchup.
Also if you want another first round pick I'd give you mine in a package for Bouye
I know some people view draft picks as depth players and that's it. Others want then to rebuild. Both parties agreed and it happened. Yes the trade for Ramsey was hard for both us to do it, I didn't want to give up both corners but sacrifices were made. To get Berry at his age cost more than I wanted to give up but i did. I understand your frustrations in seeing trades happen and having a difference of opinion. I am willing to chat trades with you but we gotta be willing to do it besides giving up a bunch of picks at the end of rounds for franchise type players.
I don't mind trades at all. I welcome them. And asking about Rodgers was more tongue n cheek because of the deals that were going down. Austin would literally shit an entire brick if I got Rodgers. Out of curiosity what was difficult to give up for the 96 Overall, 90 Spd, Hard Hitting(86) Safety, who is better in Coverage(91,95) than almost every corner in the game, who also somehow got a 90 injury Rating?
Clay Mathews who is slightly above average at best at this point? A 1st round pick in NEXT seasons draft? I dont remember the entire trade but those were the key pieces I remember. The Chiefs who Lber is arguably their best position with Houston, Ragland, Hitchens, Ford. Hell Hitchens who I would argue is their third Best Lber has almost identical stats to Mathews. So a team without any talent at all in the secondary traded now after looking at his stats one of the best players in the entire game for a player who doesn't even really improve his team, a Pick in next years draft, and whatever the other guy was?
So the problem isn't that I or anyone else doesn't like trades, I love trades. The Trades/Draft/FA are arguably the best part of the franchises. But when you see top notch players getting traded for far less then they are worth it makes you wonder many things. Is it an experienced player taking advantage of a non experienced player? Is it just one guy not knowing what things are important in Madden? Is it Collusion? While I'm not going to make any accusations those things cross your mind when you see trades like that one.
Maybe I am completely off base in my assessment of value in Madden. And at least the Jags guy had logic and reasoning behind his deals(whether I agree or not). Just think the fact that there have been three trades so far. 1 involving a top 3 safety in the league, one the top corner, and one a top 5 or so RB(with a real good DT) and the combined returns to the trading teams were 1 old mid 80's rated player, 1 average(but fast) QB and a bunch of picks/Rookies, etc is why I commented in the first place.
Malik is 28 with I’m pretty sure one year left on his deal. So I wasn’t keeping him. I’m now also able to put bouye as my FS who is an awesome fit there, along with two good young corners that I wouldn’t have been able to do that before because then it was just Ramsey and Hayden. Obv Ramsey is irreplaceable. But 4 first round picks. 2 seconds this year. That’s fun. Unless I fuck up the draft

I see your point and with JermDog I have helped him over the last 2 years see the importance of Madden ratings outside speed. I know the Rodger trade was a joke and not serious. We all had plans and sacrificed, what trade would you like to see happen?
Three picks on crossing routes where I had at least two steps and they still accelerate and pic. It's going to be a long year. Plus that was my second game in this year's madden
looks like there has been a lot of trading which you don't see very often especially this early in a madden season. I cant explain it but for some reason I just cant get into madden this year. I still plan on playing and maybe it will click later in the year for me but the game feels stale maybe its just me and once I start playing humans that will change for me.
with injury bug last game as well lost 4 players for multiple weeks to include Lamar Jackson so I had to retool my lineup and make a few hard cuts to get room for a backup QB and Safety help as I was down to only 3 on the roster. If anybody is interested in LB help I most of mine are on the market I just have to many but they are talented so I hate to cut I wont ask for much I just want a fast FB for my scheme.
We are up. I'm east coast right now. Had to come home for a funeral on Olivia's side of the family. Shoot me a time when you can go... Still looking for oline. Mik nice offer but garret is staying around for awhile
Let me know when you are ready either in band app or Xbox love message. Or if it’s easier I can give you my cell and you can text me when you are ready.
I have 5 starters out for multiple weeks. I know we cannot do anything about that, but maybe lower the injury threshold? In another league im in we did end up doing this because its pretty crazy. I also lose a few starters for the game.
If people are fine with how it is, thats fine, but just curious as to the thoughts of everyone.
I have always been a proponent for turning injuries higher as we never seem to have much. This year appears to be a little different and I enjoy the injury factor. I have lost a few players but nothing major yet. The fact we are trying to be Sim or at least reasonably close to that we should leave injuries where they are as in the NFL teams lose players almost every week and it really is a war of attrition.
as is I have already lost 5 players for multiple weeks and its forced me to make some major changes to my roster so I like it as it adds another element to managing your team.
me and Bad Intel tried to play our game but we kept getting the desynch message that would kick us out of the game after the opening kickoff. We tried about everything we could think of (auto fill roster, checking updates, turning off custom playbooks, adding players to positions that were thin and so on) but nothing worked not sure if anybody else has come across this problem yet.
I'm east coast right now and can play anytime tonight. Just let me know. It would be so easy to let me know with the band app..... Message me here or on Xbox messenger
looks like the injury bug has finally moved on from my team at one point I was down 10 players to include all 3 Qbs and taking bad losses to the CPU but no injuries these past 2 games and have got most of my good players back time to make a run
AKA BaldJustice is quiting the league. Basically said he hates all of you and with a bunch of other games coming out wont be able to or want to play madden anymore. So the AFC just got a little easier. Mr. B is also done. Ill prob take over as commish. Now there are what six of us? But with that group being real active should still be fun assuming we dont lose anyone else.
They just put out another big patch on the game today so I will play my next game or two to see what I think. But my interest in this year's game is as low as it's ever been. Between Spider-Man on PS4, Rainbow Six Siege, and Red Dead Redemption 2 next week, Madden is starting to feel more like a chore than something I want to do...but we'll see.
getting killed on injuries, ill keep playing, but i wont be overly bummed if we stop. I just got into a Playmaker Football league with some friends and wow, thats taken up most of my time lately. Anyone even play? It's pretty old, and it sounds like not many people play anymore but man it is a blast.
guys this madden is just boring and the fact both of my human games had to be sim due to de-synch errors has taken all of the fun out of it for me. I will keep playing but maybe I might change teams to get all of us in the same div
and make Mik9999999 commish for further advances. I'm going to trade the game in tomorrow night when I get RDR2. General interest in the franchise seems pretty low, and I'd rather maximize the money I can get from the game on a trade in.
Hopefully they can fix the game next year to actually make it fun again and feel different.
With everyone being so non committal to playing and Austin already douching out I haven't had the drive to play. I'm still debating but I made Adder and Intel commish as well so they can keep the weeks moving.
As far as team Ill go Giants.
Mik99999 this madden play style takes a while to figure out and Eli is absolutely one of the worst Qbs in the game so you may have some challenges with the Giants
As for teams I will take a team in whatever Division that Bad intel wants to play in.
Rams.....as tempting as it is with that stacked team, nope.
Jaguars.......great young team, not this year.
Green Bay Packers it is.
I’ll take the browns
Polar ash is in too as 49ers
JT- I hope all is well with the kiddo
If it's ok for me to join, I'll be the Texans if that's still available. If not I'll pick something else 😊
Doesn't that make you an enemy of yourself as well?
I have a proposal for CPU trades in the franchise and wanted to see what people thought and if agreed to, we could vote on it taking effect.

Mike – Giants
Colts/Bolts – Chargers

Jerm Dog – Texans

So if I win the suoerbowl and finish as the best player drafting at 32, I can trade up to number 10. Regardless if the human players use the trade I cannot draft any hire then 10. This way we still get the really good talent but still weigh it the same way. Just. Y thoughts
I remember this from last year. I would say wait to see how imported draft class works. I know there were times last year I drafted someone in round 6 or 7 and they were better rated than 1st round picks.

I do not agree with CPU trades the first couple of years. However, I proposed Omething last year that I think we should consider, trading of first rd picks with the CPU. Let me explain the process. Either way, I liked the draft going as it normally goes. The only part I see difficult is the trading up for that pick could cost alot.
I think we should relook using the band app. It's super easy and convenient
On a side note, I’m hoping I will be able to use Verrett and Hunter Henry in our season because you aren’t allowed to use injured players in head to head ranked.

Turn off pre existing injuries when you start the league that way every team is at full strength.
2nd You shouldn't be able to use Henry or Verrett. They were injured prior to preseason game 1 which is where our 2018 Journey Begins. Keep it authentic
I'm ok either way. Computer games are easier to play, human games are more fun but sometimes hard to schedule. We will also run into the fact that most playoff games will be vs computers in that scenario....
I think we need more players. ill put it out to my friends list to see if anyone wants in
Alex I will check it out

If we wanna wait until Sunday to do the draft for more people to possibly join that works
I knew someone was going to switch to them. I was debating on switching to the Raiders to guarantee more human games but not anymore. Maybe I will switch to the Rams and give Mike a run in the NFC, hmmm.......

If people are looking to stockpile some picks or make trades hit me up as I'm always down to trade. QB, OL, Lb, could use any of them. Will entertain any offer.

Like trying to trade your entire draft for Aaron Rodgers
Mik tyrod is available

Jags guy or anyone I'm in the market for a fast RB
Also if you want another first round pick I'd give you mine in a package for Bouye
Marquis lee and moncrief are available

I see your point and with JermDog I have helped him over the last 2 years see the importance of Madden ratings outside speed. I know the Rodger trade was a joke and not serious. We all had plans and sacrificed, what trade would you like to see happen?
If people are fine with how it is, thats fine, but just curious as to the thoughts of everyone.
I would vote to keep injuries as is.
Long story goes back at least 7 years
Hopefully they can fix the game next year to actually make it fun again and feel different.
I will get RDR2 but continue in both. The only human game I have left is against MR. b at the end of the season so I am playoffs bound
