We do one every year and I’m a bit later than usual for the post to start getting people who want to join. Please post if you want to join the franchise, your Gamertag, and what team(s) you would be interested in.
guys I will be back for another run in madden but wont be able to actually play until early September since I am at St. Jude with my little girl. However, I have been playing it since early July the hospital was given a early copy for the sick kids to play but it was on PS4 so I hope the transition back to Xbox is not too hard.
Mik99999 this madden play style takes a while to figure out and Eli is absolutely one of the worst Qbs in the game so you may have some challenges with the Giants
As for teams I will take a team in whatever Division that Bad intel wants to play in.
Redskins....as much as I want to, not this time.
Rams.....as tempting as it is with that stacked team, nope.
Jaguars.......great young team, not this year.
I was hoping to grab the Browns this year but if the guy above who claimed is firm I'll figure something out. I'll be in Germany for two weeks end of September and France for almost three but the airb&bs have high speed internet so bringing my box. Had to by a European one so I didn't have to lug a converter with me
I know the game comes out next Friday, but we won't start the franchise until Week 1 of the real season because we always wait for the final preseason roster update.
In speaking with Colts n Bolts, last year CPU trades were allowed with some restrictions and it seemed to be something everyone liked doing.
I have a proposal for CPU trades in the franchise and wanted to see what people thought and if agreed to, we could vote on it taking effect.
Proposed rule:
ONE cpu and human trade per season for a player. This trade CANNOT be for rookies in any season. This trade cannot be for a player 90 or higher. I.e. you like a 3rd year QB who is 89 on a CPU team, you may try and trade for him, if that same QB was a 90, you cannot trade
I like it. Trades do need to be limited so that’s a good rule. Â
Now what about draft picks. Are they allowed to be traded and trade for? Leagues I’ve done in the past we have allowed it but tend to limit the amount of picks in each round you are allowed to have .
Of computer trading. I think game logic has always been bad and they dont value Madden Assets like a player would. And while those rules would limit potentially bad trades it wouldn't be hard to get an 89 rated second year player for some package of rookies and picks.
My vote would be no computer trading, at least for the first season or two then to move into it if/when things start getting stale.
As we discuss the potential CPU trade rule, I also compiled a list of owners as of now and teams. Let me know if there are any mistakes;
Mike – Giants
Colts/Bolts – Chargers
Prototype – Jags
PolarAsh – 49ers
JT – Ravens
Bad Intel – Browns
Jackson – Packers
Jerm Dog – Texans
Mr. B - Colts

I agree. Once we did cpu tradung last year the competition against cpu went down immensely. Wait until 3rd season. trading among players is all we need for now
I am against CPU trades the computer logic is never very smart.
However I think we should have unlimited Human trades and I think we should turn the trade deadline off. Mainly because it takes weeks for humans to come up with a deal and with some owners that take bad teams that like to tank the season it would allow them to move assets late in the season to acquire draft picks form guys getting ready for playoff pushes.
Also with imported draft classes Draft picks will be more valuable as you will have a actual idea on who you are drafting.
Finally I know we are going to wait for the official madden roster for week 1 after cuts but with the import roster feature there are a few guys that will have complete roster update ready long before the madden one is released. I know a accurate 90 man roster will be coming out by a madden fan club shortly that is expected to have added 300 players to the game that are not in the release copy of the game. Its something to think about.
Keeping the trade deadline on is good because you can still trade in off-season.
If we started league with the release of the game it could add some intrigue on who we decide to cut from our team instead of the cpu. If we did it we should schedule one night where we do sim each week of preseason and cut accoridngly. Then start week 1 right away
I do not agree with CPU trades the first couple of years. However, I proposed Omething last year that I think we should consider, trading of first rd picks with the CPU. Let me explain the process. Say there are 10 people in the league and we finish in the top 10 spots. The person at the te th spot could trade for the first overall pick with the CPU. He would have to insude his first rd draft pick and can only trade for the CPUs pick. The same process gets repeated for the rest of the league. So if I win the suoerbowl and finish as the best player drafting at 32, I can trade up to number 10. Regardless if the human players use the trade I cannot draft any hire then 10. This way we still get the really good talent but still weigh it the same way. Just. Y thoughts

I remember this from last year. I would say wait to see how imported draft class works. I know there were times last year I drafted someone in round 6 or 7 and they were better rated than 1st round picks.

WTF Jackson I have been playing with it for a month now it works just like it did with Madden 14 when we were able to import the NCAA 14 draft class over for us to draft that was the one where Manziel went 2nd overall. Now I agree you wont find as many studs in the 6th and 7th because we will know who these guys really are and will take the good players much earlier but in addition you wont have every draft class loaded with a ton of 99 speed guys or a bunch of stud Qbs making them much more valuable when you have one.

Either way, I liked the draft going as it normally goes. The only part I see difficult is the trading up for that pick could cost alot.
Vibrant discussion. Looks like the votes in favor of CPU trades are outweighed by those that oppose it.
With regard to the Draft trades, swapping picks into the top 10. I actually like the idea and concept, but I do not think it can be executed well. Thus, I am voting against its implementation.
My thought process is that if we all finished with picks 23-32, in a 10 owner league, and then allowed folks to trade up to 1-10, what happens if the person who could pick at the #4 spot (but finished in the #26 spot) either does not want to trade or can't trade (i.e. they have attempted to make a trade with the CPU but they can't pull it off). Then we have a scenario where there is potential for the Super Bowl Champs to pick at spot #10, 16 spots higher than the theoretically worse team. Seems unbalanced to me.
I would be on board with the idea, if we had a policy in place stopping the trade ups when/if a team decides not to trade or can't. For instance, if the 3 worse teams can trade and take picks 1-3, but the 4th team can't, then the trade ups all stop from 4-10. And, while I like all this, it seems overly complicated.
I like different parts of all the different trading ideas and I think we will implement them down the line. I actually kind of want to do a normal season and offseason first.
On a side note, I’m hoping I will be able to use Verrett and Hunter Henry in our season because you aren’t allowed to use injured players in head to head ranked.

Turn off pre existing injuries when you start the league that way every team is at full strength.
1st off....You Suck
2nd You shouldn't be able to use Henry or Verrett. They were injured prior to preseason game 1 which is where our 2018 Journey Begins. Keep it authentic
what does that App do? I wish we could recruit a few more active players I remember when we used to do the fantasy draft leagues we almost had up to 20 active players back then but of course Madden online leagues where a new thing back then
If we end up with no one else joining us, we all picked teams within the same division ie AFC West and Mfc north. That way we all get at least 6 to 7 human games a season
It would likely have to be divisions that have teams that are interesting from top to bottom of the division. Maybe NFC South? AFC South? All the teams are solid and none are completely awful.
I'm ok either way. Computer games are easier to play, human games are more fun but sometimes hard to schedule. We will also run into the fact that most playoff games will be vs computers in that scenario....
the Band APP is a forum like this with a calendar to schedule events as well. you are able to post the games and see who plays who and when and allows you to work out a time. you can also create a place to talk trades or whatever else you might want. a lot of players these days like joining leagues/guilds that have the app.
I think we need more players. ill put it out to my friends list to see if anyone wants in
I know its not easy to get everybody together but if we did a fantasy draft league then all the teams would be interesting since they were drafted by the owner.
As far as team Ill go Giants.

Green Bay Packers it is.
I’ll take the browns
Polar ash is in too as 49ers
JT- I hope all is well with the kiddo
If it's ok for me to join, I'll be the Texans if that's still available. If not I'll pick something else 😊
Doesn't that make you an enemy of yourself as well?
