Cleveland is trading former first-round pick WR Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills for a draft pick, per source.

Coleman was the player the Browns selected after trading the No. 2 overall pick to Philadelphia so the Eagles could draft Carson Wentz.

He sucks

Constantly injured and has a major case of the dropsies.
But Sachi Brown
Anakim : 8/5/2018 9:22 pm : link
Woof. He's had some putrid misses in Cleveland.
Wasn't he being touted pre draft
kelsto811 : 8/5/2018 9:26 pm : link
By some experts as a similar player to OBJ? Or am I thinking of someone else
i thought
CMicks3110 : 8/5/2018 9:28 pm : link
he looked similar on tape to Beckham myself, just with worse hands. I would take a chance on him, but the Giants aren't in a position to trade picks (with having already given up a 3 for sam beal)

I wonder if this increases the chances of Dez to Cleveland...

He actually had a good rookie season. And they did turn him into anothet first rounder IIRC For Cleveland that’s a successful of a pic sadly
The Bills have been trying to trade their way

to a receiving corps lately. Jordan Matthews, Kelvin Benjamin, now Coleman. I think there might have been a fourth WR I'm forgetting about.

even if you wanted to unload the guy, they couldn't get more than a 7th rounder?? Corey Coleman and Adam Bisnowatny have the same value on the trade wheel!!

I remember that conversation well. That being said, Coleman has barely played and when he has, it's been a garbage situation. I think he's a good player, but the dude cannot stay healthy.

And Bryce Petty was going to tear up the league.

Must have been a Baylor thing.
What does Gordon have to do with this?
ZogZerg : 8/6/2018 9:38 am : link
No one with half a brain would count on Gordon for anything.
Coleman is obviously a bust and it was easy for the new GM to cut ties.

What a F-ing joke the browns are. Their fans must be sick to their stomach over the wasted HIGH first round picks.
And, remember many on BBI applauding the Browns

"moves" when they passed on a franchise QB in Wentz to "stack their team with talent". LOL

I was also told Landry will be the 4th option in the passing game there this year.

Well.. that's not off to a good start. And it shows you how Coleman was valued. 7th rounder? CLE basically gave him away.
Honestly, I wish the Giants had made this deal
Jim in Forest Hills : 8/6/2018 11:53 am : link
7th for Coleman's potential is a high upside low risk move.
Not that our drafts from 2012-16 were amazing
Cenotaph : 8/6/2018 1:49 pm : link
but that list (including a few extra 1st's, and mostly top 15 picks) shows why the Browns haven't had success, beyond just the QB. No one hits every pick, and picks fail for many reasons including coaching & scheme fits/changes - but so many of those guys not only weren't worth the picks, they turned out to not even be NFL caliber players. Richardson, Weeden, Glibert & Manziel all out of the league right? Shelton probably the most successful pick (unless you want to count that the Browns got a solid pick for Richardson, those he was a 3rd pick that could have been Keuchly or Cox), and he was shipped of the NE for a bargain pick recently. And now they've given up on Coleman after 2 years - solid gamble for Buf, both teams have struggled for WR talent for a while now. Cle might end up OK if Gordon returns to form, even 75-80% of what he was is still better than what they've had.

I know they are becoming a trendy pick, and I think next year might be a bit soon - but CLE certainly has a chance to really improve. They've stockpiled some nice talent, aggressively filled a few holes this offseason - now it's mainly a question of getting the QB right. Taylor is a decent stop gap, they should have a solid OL (too bad Thomas retired), a few weapons on O and a solid overall D with some potential stars in Garrett and maybe Ward, plus Peppers from last year if they find a good role for him. Along the lines of a team like JAX last year - fill in the missing pieces to solidify the D, build O around run game w/solid OL, and hope your QB doesn't sink the ship...
They gave him away
KWALL2 : 8/6/2018 7:41 pm : link
Injuries and off the field stuff wasn't good.

He's talented and Bills with a smart move here. No downside for them. Maybe its a wake up call for the player.

Landry? Maybe he moves up to option 3b.

I did like Treadwell more than Coleman, yes, but I wouldn't have taken either of them, especially after Treadwell ran a 4.6.

"My Guy"?? Here's a suggestion - don't have a "my guy", especially when it is an amateur prediction stated as if it is an expert one.

I get fans like the draft, but these jackasses that watch some clips of a player and then declare him "my guy" are one of the most annoying things to see here.

arcarsenal : 8/7/2018 8:50 am : link
I liked Treadwell - I thought he'd be able to carve out a niche in the NFL. The difference is that I can admit when I'm wrong. NFL prospects aren't always easy to call. It's why even the guys getting paid good money to make these calls don't even get these right a lot of times.

You were very bullish on Coleman. He hasn't been the player you kept insisting he'd be even when he's been healthy. It's not the end of the world to admit that maybe you were a little off, too - something I'm not sure I've ever seen you do.
I have no issue with KWALL or anyone else
Keith : 8/7/2018 9:57 am : link
being extremely bullish on a prospect. My issue is with calling any prospect a can't miss. There is no such thing. KWALL was touting this guy and a can't miss, instant impact player that can run every route and catch every ball.

It happens every year and every year someone looks stupid. This time it was KWALL.
.
arcarsenal : 8/7/2018 12:22 pm : link
Oh, that doesn't bother me at all - if you're bullish on a prospect, by all means, have that conviction. Just saying - if you're going to be that way about a player, you also need to be able to admit when you're off the mark.
LOL FMIc

There was a ColemanTreadwell debate here. I liked Coleman.

And here we have a group calling me out for Coleman. Yeah my guy. That term is worthy of. LOL?

Arc. I’ll admit when I’m wrong and have no problem with it. I’ll wait writing off an injured player. And BTW, you were a lot more bullish on Treadwell than “carve a niche”, weren’t you?
Arc
KWALL2 : 8/7/2018 4:09 pm : link
Are you tracking my comments closely enough to make that comment? I never heard you say you were wrong. Or anybody’s else really, why? Because who the hell pays attention to that and keeps score.

For example, I didn’t like Kenny Phillips but really liked him on the team. Same with Nicks And it was posted here more than a few times.

I’m wrong all of the time and I come back here when it gets posted. Now thats is the part to LOL about. Hey KWALL liked Matt Jones. He liked Defante Parker. He didn’t like Kenny Phillips. Here is a negative article on the player so let’s have a callout on a college prospect that didn’t work out. That’s the comedy.

If Coleman doesn’t workout I have no problem admitting the obvious. My point, in this case, is he has been hurt. He’s only played 2 years. And he looked good when I saw him play (despite some brutal drops). It’s far from over for him.
.
arcarsenal : 8/7/2018 4:12 pm : link
Nowhere near as bullish on Treadwell as you were with Coleman.

You said the Giants would have the best WR duo in the NFL if they took Coleman. You said there was "no risk" with this player. Immediate impact. You called him a "TD and big play machine"

You said Coleman was "top 10" material.

I don't think I was quite that bullish on Treadwell, but I also have no problem admitting when I'm wrong. I'm not going to keep moving goalposts or changing arguments to make myself less wrong. I thought Treadwell would be a good outside WR and thought he'd be able to do a lot of the things Alshon Jeffery does. He's been a bust so far and obviously can't.

I can admit I was wrong on Treadwell. I just see you making excuses for Coleman.

KWALL, there is absolutely nobody on this board more bullish about his favorite picks than you are. It was the same way with Leonard Floyd. Totally and completely "in your face" and thats why you are being called out here. Just saying.

Well, you were just as wrong as me because Michael Thomas is the best WR from that class and I'd even take Shepard over Coleman at this point.

I never said the Giants would have the best WR duo in football if they took Coleman and definitely never said Treadwell would be a big play or TD machine.

I dont know how you can justify the "bigger dog" status for Treadwell when he is still on his original team and 3 significant receiving threats as options over him. Corey Coleman was given away.

Late round sleeper. That was the call. And the value was there even after week 1.

They didn’t use him enough. Coaches were wrong there. He’ll get a bigger role with the new staff.
