Bird has been one of our best hitters of late.
However, my hopes of consistent and confident at bats were dashed quickly.

Hitting .200 the last two weeks, and him being “hot” is .244 with 4 HRs over the last month. And, he the stats show he is really having trouble with fastballs. And it’s getting worst, not better.
When he’s on, he looks great, but extended lengths of ineptitude and numerous injuries make it hard to expect anything consistent going forward. It seems like he “just got back” in the line up, but he now has the most plate appearances he has ever made in a season.

I don't see him having trouble with all fastballs. It's the ones up/up and away he can't catch up to or lay off of. If he wouldn't chase those, his numbers on fastballs wouldn't look as bad.

I was shocked no question. I'm not sure why you'd ever throw him a change up when he can't hit a curve and has trouble with fastballs too. Brilliant pitching to give him something he can handle but I'll take the gift thank you very much.
Sonny just needs to lock this down now, and get us the win.
Apparently needs extra time off after throwing almost 40 pitches in BOS.
