and the nets dont have to clear cap space to sign them both. To boot, they have a much easier path to a third max player than the knicks do two.
knicks already have a 3rd max on the roster
and additional talent that Brooklyn doesn't have. Plus, the Nets aren't the Knicks. It's worse than the Jets or Mets because their existing fanbase is quite small. Even when the Nets moved to Brooklyn and did all of that PR around the talent they put on the team it didn't move the needle at all. The garden is still the garden and they still have a significantly larger fanbase and brand globally.

Who probably wont play a lick this year. In order for the knicks to clear a 2nd max spot they'll need to dump hardaway & lee without taking any salary back. Of course they'll have to stretch and waive noah but thats the easy part.

This is big facts. The nets biggest hurdle is if all things are equal you'd never chose them over the garden.

That would be good for the knicks. I've said it since he's drafted but there is no way that guys body holds up. It wont deter stars from wanting to play with him but it's just a thought I have. Too tall, too skinny to hold up to the NBA grind.
Wake me up when F-A-B-O-L-O-U-S chimes in on KAT wanting to come to NY. Maybe Lloyd Banks and the G-Unit crew are in Kyries ears. Hopefully Kevin Durant has Ja Rule on speed dial and will inform him of his desires of playing for the Mecca.
in the sorta famous but not really photo that was taken of STAT, Allan Houston, Spike, and others when STAT agreed to come to NY? Or was it some other rap guy?
So KP is too tall and skinny to enjoy long term health Â
Knicks number at 29.5 wins. Projected to be 5th worst- ATL, Chicago, Kings, PHX are worse. The obviously all depends on when and if KP returns. I would be ultra conservative and not think of playing him until after the all star break and then let him get reps and showcase him to prospective FAs.
The other thing is that Sacramento has no reason to tank due to not owning their pick. Phoenix wants to win this year but play in the West. Who knows with the Bulls but they have a much more talented roster than the Knicks without KP. Atlanta will be the only team truly openly tanking. I used this unique opportunity and do everything possible to get a top 3 pick.
Will be a tricky situation if KP says hes healthy and wants to return. But there is no reason not to be very conservative with him.
Will he stretched in September. If I’m reading it correctly, it will cost 6 mill in cap space for 2020 and 2021. Not ideal and really hope Perry can work out a trade but that’s not realistic.
I would be the least accommodating as possible and force Noah to give back some money. What a complete disaster of a signing. Thanks Phil...
Or even What time?

It could backfire on them
If Durant would come he would be my choice
Or wait til 2020 end of season and go get Anthony Davis
