*The Browns had a similar offseason to the Giants in that they brought in a new Offensive scheme (Todd Haley) and a new GM (John Dorsey) with solid track records. This game is something of an unveiling for both teams looking to establish a new identity.
*Debut of #1 overall pick QB Baker Mayfield. Tyrod Taylor will start and play a series or 2. The plan is to play Mayfield for 2 quarters. He's reportedly been very accurate and a good fit in Haley's quick release O. The Browns 2nd string OL has been terrible in camp.
*With Joe Thomas retiring, the Browns moved LG Joel Bitonio to LT. He'll get a stiff test from Olivier Vernon. Austin Corbett - who the Browns took over Will Hernandez in the 2nd round - starts at LG.
*RDE Myles Garrett has been terrorizing the Browns offense in practice. Garrett needs to stay healthy but has the looks of a #1 overall pick. Will be interesting to see how Solder handles him.
*The other high pick - CB Denzel Ward - will be matched up on Odell Beckham. (If OBJ plays.) The Browns are anxious to see how he performs.
*Rookie RB Nick Chubb is expected to be a major player for them, and like Mayfield, will get a heavy workload in this game. The Browns have a strong backfield with Chubb, Carlos Hyde and Duke Johnson. Good early test for the Giants LBs.
*The Browns have already had their full contact Orange and Brown scrimmage so they may be ahead of where the Giants are physically.
1 maybe, 2 series is my guess.
and this team needs to win to start building a winning mindset !
I doubt the Giants sign him to a new contract before the season starts, if he refuses to play in preseason games....
It's too risky. Lots of catastrophic injuries have happened that have ruined seasons. Starting QB's, RB's, WR's, CB's OT's etc will have their workloads in preseason decreased until basically only 2nd and 3rd stringers playing for their lives are what remains.
If I were the Giants Beckham maybe plays a series the 3rd preseason game. Rest of the time he's in streetclothes on the sidelines

What makes you think it's his decision to not play in the preseason?
