As a reminder, Giants season tickets are now fully digital and accessible on your mobile device from the Giants team app or through the Giants’ Account Manager. Print at home or paper tickets other than the commemorative tickets issued by the Giants Ticket Office are no longer accepted for admittance into MetLife Stadium on game day. |
Interesting. This is the first I am hearing of this. I wonder why they changed this?

Admittance is granted through the mobile app. In the case of technical issues, they will have kiosks at the gate.

From what I understand, it is league wide. No more paper tickets printed via email. I guess there were issues where people sold/transferred the tickets to another party, and then showed up before the buyers. The buyers are left with invalid tickets.
Marketing. They get information about the recipient of the transferred ticket when he/she has to go through the ticketmaster app rather than just being able to print an emailed pdf ticket.

That happened to me a couple of years ago. I sold my tickets to this woman. She was getting them for her son for his graduation present. I forwarded her all the tickets because you never know when the hard tickets will come. She wanted the hard tickets as well but I didn't have them when I was selling them. Once I got the hard tickets I sent those to her as well. When her son went to the second preseason game the hard tickets wouldn't work because I already printed up the other tickets which she also had. That was a huge problem. She wanted a ton of money back. I reimbursed her just for that game even though they were still allowed in but after some bullshit.
in order to save them to your phone, it seems you have to download google pay.
as many are aware, the service outside the stadium is unimpressive. without having the tickets saved to the phone, you have to rely upon having that spotty service work. it happened to me tonight until i wandered around for a few minutes. the reason i didnt download them to my phone is 1) because i don't have google pay because i dont use it, and 2) if my phone were to die or break, i could still access my account from someone else's phone.
i have the impression this will not be a smooth transition.
