Obviously we've got some Giants football on the tube at the same time, so most of us will be flipping back and forth (or going somewhere with more than one TV)

Boone seems to treat the cleanup spot as a revolving door... now Aaron Hicks is there. As the lineup turns....

Let's just keep on winning.
I guess if Robinson is here
Eman11 : 8/9/2018 5:44 pm : link
They might as well play him but I can't help but wonder how Stanton feels about not playing RF.
I know this team currently doesn't have
Beer Man : 8/9/2018 5:56 pm : link
an ideal #3 hitter, but I am not a fan of Didi hitting 3rd. I wish Gleyber could regain his mojo and take the 3rd spot (or Greg Bird to find his mojo). I just think Didi is better hitting 6 or 7.
Let's go!

It was reported a few days ago that his leg was sore so, I’m sure he’s fine with it.

I was going on the assumption he's healthy but yeah, I heard that too. If that's the reason then you're probably right, I'd imagine he'd be ok with just DHing until it's healed.
Boy, it would have been nice to have Happ in Boston

I was texting with my buddy from Michigan who loves football. Lions fan but that's ok. He was giving it to me saying Giants look in true form. Preseason football has always been hard to watch.

Early games are annoying. Not one pass to Barkley. 1 touch per series. Eli throwing the usual 3 yard pass on 3rd and 7. First game is for 2nd, 3rd and 4th team players. Sucks.

rolled over outside pitch. Yeah, he's not going to hit until he takes what the pitchers give him. He has plenty of power to hit oppo HRs..

This is such a weird season. Despite the crazy high expectations I actually think the team is overachieving. So many cold bats, lots of nagging injuries, our best player out for a month, Sevy shaky for a 5 start stretch...I’m amazed we are still on pace for 100ish wins give or take.
Walker's 2nd blast!

One more batter, then pull him. Just to save the arm. He might have something wrong. Velocity is down 3 to 4 mph.
Breaking ball saved him.

Greg Bird
Marty866b : 8/9/2018 10:30 pm : link
Is hitting .212 which isn't far off his lifetime batting average. How in the world can Boone bat him 4th and 5th? Yanks should have been more aggressive getting a lefthanded hitting first baseman(Borne from the Marlins?). How long can they stick with Bird. He has proven to be awful. Andujar should be batting 4th or 5th. He has been consistently their best hitter. Hasn't been streaky like everyone else in the order.
.
arcarsenal : 8/10/2018 12:00 am : link
Let's fucking go, Yanks.

Looked like most of Chappy's FB's were around 96 - obviously we all know he can pump it 100+ - so it was a little concerning to see him struggle to find the zone and make things a bit interesting. Hopefully he's fine. End of the day, we took care of biz and didn't need to get Britton in there.

Need to see a vintage Chappy outing soon to alleviate the concern - I'm still a little worried about him. He's definitely sore.

A lot of good things though.

1. I have a massive man-crush on Aaron Hicks.
2. Giancarlo has been a fucking beast since May.
3. Happ did what he needed to do - I think Cash did the right thing at the deadline by getting a couple of starters who can keep us in games and adding an elite reliever (when he's on) - we didn't have to part with anyone like Frazier, Sheffield, or Florial. Didn't even have to move Adams.
4. Miggy is the fucking man
5. I wanted Neil Walker DFA'd a few weeks ago - I feel stupid now. He's been excellent now that he's getting regular PT.

We're gonna be fine. Sevy seemingly getting right last night was huge. Masa tends to be better 2nd half and has been very good since the hammy strains. Lynn had an outstanding first start. Happ has been getting it done so far. I always trust CC, and the outing Gray had out of the pen yesterday was big for him.

We need 99 back in the lineup - El Gary, too. It sucks Boston is having the season they are - but I really think we can beat them in a DS if we can get out of the play-in.

Just keep winning games.
Chapman did hit 100
Eman11 : 8/10/2018 12:43 am : link
There in the 9th on the one strikeout but he didn't really have control of his fastball and I think Romine was smart to keep calling for the slider.

He just needs work to stay sharp but a fine line between working him enough and being cautious about the knee or even overworking him.
.
arcarsenal : 8/10/2018 12:52 am : link
If Chap did hit 100, I probably just missed it... just not used to seeing his FB @ 96 on several pitches. Definitely not in panic mode - he just seems like he's not 100%, so hopefully I'm just overreacting. His control just doesn't seem to be there and the velo is a little down too.

Betances is a monster right now.

Since July 1st, Dellin has a 0.75 ERA and has allowed just 1 run in 12 IP. 22 K's, 3 walks. Absolute beast.

Best part about this bullpen is that there's so much firepower. Even if Chap is hurting or not 100%, we have a billion options. But we do need to make sure he's right.

Bottom line.... 4 in a row. Let's keep it going.
I really cant deal with the

arc= Yanks fan now curve ball. Im just waiting for him to go all Nelson Muntz on us if we crash and burn in the playoffs. Lol

He's good with knowledge of the game, but I am not easily swayed.

what is the story here? Were you a lifetime die hard Met fan?

There are no laws against doing what you did but it feels like there should be. No offense.
