I was at the game and was very interested in how Webb would play.
I came away very impressed with Lauletta. The kid had a presence about him. He seemed very calm and knew where to go with the ball. He delivered an accurate pass and also put touch on it. I know its only one pre-season game but he looked more the part of a Pro QB than Webb tonight.
I see what people are saying about the catchable ball and accuracy

That's what I saw also. Hopefully it was just jitters and he shakes it off soon.
You know, I’m just happy that we can come away

With one of the backups looking really good. It’s early, but Lauretta looks like he can play. So much for all of shitty reviews he’s getting from beat writers.
I was very encouraged by the long ball he threw

That resulted in a pass interference call.

He stood in the pocket under pressure and calmly dropped the ball into the perfect spot.

I’m looking foward to seeing more from him.

was on the "locked on giants" podcast may 10th and he liked Lauletta MUCH better than Webb. Said Webb's upside was "a better version of Rob Johnson", while Lauletta could be "a better version of Case Keenum." He seemed to think that Webb is one of the long list of QBs are overrated because they look the part and have cannons, but can't move/process fast enough to avoid throwing dumb picks under pressure, while Lauletta has the footwork, anticipation and accuracy to be successful in the NFL, though of course "solid backup" is more likely than Chad Pennington without the injuries (already got a torn acl on resume.)
Laulletta had

some nice touch on his passes. Webb obviously has a good arm but needs to learn to take some off when necessary.
I thought Webb was too tight and late on his passes

He has been taught that he is both dangerous for his team and against his team and to be more cautious. This may have made him react too late, wanting to protect the ball, and thus, affected his game.
I kept thinking, man, if Lauletta had some arm strength he could be

impressive. I'm no guru, i could be wrong but I was thinking can't they just get him the gym and build some decent strength. He's not a small guy.

Ok, so I just now bothered to take the time and read an article on Lauletta, realising I was pointing out the obvious. My bad... :(
Mental part of the game

Seems to be there for Lauletta. Dragon was throwing like a headless chicken.

We have the reincarnation of Pennington and Leaf on our team.

Panicked or over-amped?
Lauletta is reminding more and more...

of Chad Pennington. Poised, smart, reliable...but he looks like he's trying to throw a bowling ball when he really has to drive the ball...
Pennington gets mocked a lot but the guy was a good QB

before his injuries. I still remember someone saying circa around 2002 that Pennington and Brady were similar, Pennington was more accurate and Brady had a better arm. We laugh at that now but I wonder if Pennington stayed healthy and played for Belichick what our perception of him would be.
