If it was an inside zone play then he did a good job washing his man down.
The second play he was in pass protection and while it was a positive play he looks like he is on roller skates. He never anchors down in pass protection.
Third play was a running play and he stayed with his man but at the end his man disengaged and was there to pile on. Not bad.
Fourth play he showed horrible technique again. He ducked his head down and the defender blew around him but the ball was already out.
Fifth play was a running play. It kind of got bottled up. It looked like an okay job.
Sixth play he was in pass protection but did not retreat. It looked like a run play so he engaged his guy first and rhe defender never got off the LoS.
Seventh play he was in pass protection. His kick slide looked much better here and under control. He still has poor hand placement and ducks his head on contact but this was a solid play.
Second series:
Eighth play was tough to tell what was going on. The defender engaged him but he looked like he was trying to get to the second level. Weird play.
Ninth play he was supposed to inside release the defender and was out of position the whole time and then tripped and fell
Tenth play he was in pass protection and did a decent job.
Eleventh play he was in pass protection but wasn't kick sliding. He started to but aggressively engaged the defender amd did a great job.
Twelveth play he engaged his defender at the LoS on a pass play amd looked good.
Thirteenth play was a running play. He engaged his guy but the defender easily shed him and made the tackle.
Fourteenth play the entire right side of the OL destroyed the Cleveland DL on a running play.
Fifteenth plag was a pass play and Flowers once again engaged his man at the LoS and stonewalled him.
Sixteenth play he was in his kick slide and probably did his best job pass protection while in his kick slide.
Side note, it is fairly easy to tell whether it will be a run or pass based on how the OL lines up.
I'd say a lot of the same strengths and weaknesses are showing up. His technique is still very poor. If he goes up against a good pass rusher they will abuse him. In the run game he showed some positive signs but is still sloppy. In pass protection when he can engage his man quickly he seems to do very well. When he is in his kick slide there will almost always be issues if he goes against an opponent with an array of moves or is smart in exploiting his weaknesses.
I did see growth within the game so that is a positive sign.

It depends on the call. To the naked eye it looked like Stewart was at fault because when the LBs crossed the OL (Halapio?) Went to the left and Stewart went left. Stewart has a much better view of what is happening and should have seen the orange helmet coming through that hole. Imo, that was all on Stewart but it does depend on the call.
Are you implying the guy didn't deserve the criticism? This is also the 9th overall pick with 3 years under his belt. This isn't Chad Wheeler. Is it too much to ask a top 10 pick to play to the league average?

It isn't pretty, but he gets the job done. But what is nice to see is Rhett staying with his guy and sealing off the second level to spring Saquon.

You're a year off on the all-ACC team. Those guys were 2015, when Flowers was already with the Giants.
The first team T's on the 2014 team were Cameron Erving and T.J. Clemmings.
Erving was taken 19th overall; Clemmings had a stress fracture issue pre-draft and went 4th round. Both were disappointments.
It was a bad OL draft, certainly for first round. Giants, beginning with ownership, wanted one. Would have taken Scherff if he was there.
OL still needs an upgrade despite adding Solder, Hernandez, and Omameh. Look for that to continue after final cuts. There is going to be a lot of roster turnover in the first 24-48 hours after September 1.

But I think the question remains, are their any teams in the NFL with enough OL depth that they would cut somebody who could start for the Giant? Everybody is cap compliant at this point. So if a rookie/FA outplays a starter wouldn't they just get demoted to reserve?

If indeed the issue seems to be that Flowers struggles when he Retreats or slides, he has the talent in the coaching staff the ability to fix it if they make it a focus.
quite a bit of drive from everyone except Flowers. He makes his block an he likely goes for six. Barkley saved that play in spite of Flowers.
Or you are just seeing what you want to see. Flowers engaged the DT at the line of scrimmage and drove him, 1 on 1, 3-4 yards off the ball. Omameh and Halipo,to Flowers left, double team their man and pushed him about the same distance off the LOS. Ellison, to Flowers right, engaged a linebacker 3 yards off the ball and stood him up. The only person on the screen there that didn’t look great was Adams who got driven into the backfield by the DE.

McAdoo’s predicable one formation offense didn’t do anyone any favors. He was Just inept on all levels. Shurmur and Shula are huge upgrades on so many levels. Born telegraphing every play will help the OL of course but every other player on the O

he is in a long line of company of LT fails by many teams.
I am sure the coaches will remind him and continue to work
on hand placement and dropping his head ect.

Marcus Peters isn't a miss. Peters has off the field concerns but on the field he is a great CB.
