NFT: Plane hijacked from SeaTac airport

Did a search, and did not see any threads on it.

Airplane mechanic steals plane with no passengers on board and goes for a joyride that ultimately ends in a crash. F-16’s scrambled to escort the plane. Cockpick recordings between suspect and air traffic controllers are so surreal.

one of the most bizarre situations I've ever witnessed. Very sad, and pretty remarkable that the mechanic was actually able to fly the airplane somewhat competently for as long as he did, if he indeed never had any formal flight training.

I suspect it will come out that he was a student pilot.
