Giancarlo is en fuego. What a year he's having.

I don’t think it’s beyond the realm he gets to 50 again. Amazing how locked in he is

Seems like he has been locked in ever since that walk off HR @ home back in May. Even the singles and doubles he's hitting are absolute ROCKETS. He's just murdering everything.

Singleton has been saying recently how Stanton is a huge routine guy and does things the same times and ways pretty much every day. He thought it was just a matter of time until he got comfortable being on a new team and all the changes that go along with it.

It sure looks like he's settled in and comfortable now and has got his routine down. Now he just goes out and does his thing.

He's been looking great for a while now, and has stepped up big time while Judge and Sanchez are out.

Ironically, he's the one who DOES seem to be left in the same lineup spot almost every day. He's been in the 2 hole pretty consistently since Judge went down and seems to be very comfortable there.

I should have said this earlier this week but wanted to apologize for my part of the argument we had last week. We both went over the line. I have been dealing with a lot of shit but still should control my emotions better. We all want the same thing, the Yanks to win, so no need to let it become personal. My apologies

Another note worth mentioning re: Stanton - as someone who’s been considered injury prone by some in his career (the fastball to the face was a freak injury), while he’s been DHing a lot due to a leg injury, he is still in the lineup every day, huge with Judge out.
Nice play by Voit

I think they like their chances against the SP more than the BP today, thus the lack of count working.

Yeah, just a fantastic play all the way around there by him. Getting to the ball was the easiest part and that was no gimme. Getting up and making the throw as good and fast as he did without getting to settle himself was pretty incredible.

Yeah, if they keep swinging early they'll never see the BP!

Great play by Didi..impressive spring up and throw.

Miggy looks like he's got a small case of the yips throwing across the diamond.

Gotta love all the runs, though. This is what we should be doing against a crappy pitcher like Perez.
Andujar has fielding in his head.
section125 : 8/12/2018 2:53 pm : link
Probably needs a day away from the field.

Great pick by Voit to save him and CC.

Keep the theme alive. Bird had two doubles yesterday, so bench today.
My thoughts as well. For some reason Boone prefers to sit players after a good game.

I think Holder throws the best

FB high out of the zone, consistently, of any Yankees pitcher. Just over the zone but high enough to be hard to hit and still be enticing....

Taking 3-4 is a real good job against a good hitting team.

Should be a great game tomorrow night with Sevy going against deGrom. Here's hoping we get the A lineup and everyone's healthy and rested because we're going to need to be on top of our game all around.

deGrom has been unbelievable this year.
I'll take 3 out of 4
section125 : 8/12/2018 4:18 pm : link
all the way in... Stanton and Didi keep hitting. Good team win. Even Voit made very good plays at 1st.

Really need Sevy to return to Sevy pre-July.

Totally agree. Maybe going against deGrom will be just the thing to get him dialed in and back to that.

Mook, it's fine. I wasnt really upset. I recognized you popped off a bit and I did too. I actually didnt mean anything by me saying "I never liked you." I got caught up being called a drunk. Anybody here who has met me will tell you I like to imbibe with the best of them. But I got pissed because I thought it was a cop out and in fact I had had only on glass that night.

I should've been more perceptive to what you were going through. I dont know whats going to happen to me and living life properly when my folks go. I don't envy you what you went through. I apologize for not sucking it up and understanding where you were at.

We're both Yanks fans and we were going thru a pooper. Im all good.
Real nice win...

Bird
Marty866b : 8/12/2018 7:02 pm : link
He has a .222 lifetime batting average with over 500 at bats. I wouldn't argue why he isn't in the lineup. Yanks should have gone after Bour from the Marlins.
.
arcarsenal : 8/12/2018 7:42 pm : link
Bird posted an .871 OPS as a rookie in 46 games - he's had trouble staying healthy and playing consistently since.

It's not the end of the world that he was out of the lineup today, but I do think he's got to play about as close to every day as possible so that the Yanks can figure out what they have here and how to address the position going forward.

There's talent there - the guy hadn't even played over 50 games in a season until this one. But he needs to play.

Woulda coulda shoulda, it doesn't matter because he's not here. I agree with arc, not a huge deal but he needs to play and should get the majority of the playing time at 1B because he's the best they have.

Drop him in the order if he struggles but keep playing him, and give him a shot at getting it together. If he does it will be a real big boost. If not he's still better than Voit.

Plus he's shown he can get it done in a big spot, and to me that can't and shouldn't be overlooked.

Bour is hitting .227 this season and is an absolute butcher in the field. He was just traded to Philly for some no name Mackenzie Mills. To be a “bench bat”. Boy, the Yankees really missed out on that golden opportunity!
