a play that's always stuck with me has been Antonio Pierce's tackle on a screen pass in the NFC championship game vs Green Bay in 2007. Such a clutch tackle in the situation. Sure there are many more memorable plays that I remember, but for some reason I always remember that play.
It would have definitely been a touchdown.... - ( New Window )
Jacobs trucking Charles Woodson in NFC Championship...
Chris684 : 8/13/2018 9:01 am : link
I'm pretty sure the Green Bay radio booth said something to the effect of playing NYG is like having teeth pulled without drugs.

Charles Woodson was a great player but you can tell he was beaten for the rest of the day on that play alone. You have to wonder the effect that has on a defense when your leader and one of your best players has his spirit broken (on top of being concussed) that early in a huge game, especially in those elements.
So Many To Choose From
Trainmaster : 8/13/2018 9:01 am : link
I think I’ll go with Jim Burt knocking Montana out of the 1986 playoff game with LT getting a pick 6 on the same play.

Mark Ingram's 3rd down catch in SB 25.
Section331 : 8/13/2018 9:02 am : link
How he made so many defenders miss was remarkable.
Tyree’s a given for most if not all Giants’ fans.

This is mine...that was perhaps the most physical, competitive game I ever remember. Every play was huge, and that was an absolutely insane effort.

Pierce’s screen pass tackle against the Packers in the playoffs mentioned above is a close second for me.
Many playoff moments...
Drewcon40 : 8/13/2018 9:19 am : link
...but one that sticks out to me was during the Jets game on Christmas Eve 2011. Not the Cruz play but Ahmad Bradshaw's TD run when he plowed through Brodney Poole. I was fortunate to be at that game (Jets "home" game),

5)Bavaro dragging 49ers

4) Snap to Reasons during the fake punt in the '90 NFC Championship.

3) Shockey catch over Dawkins in '02 in the win and in game

2) Big Mark Ingram catch on 3rd down from Super Bowl 25

1) Tyree

My favorite too. Rare that you can pinpoint a moment when a season completely turned.

JPP's block a couple a weeks earlier was great but then we laid an egg against the Redskins.

Happened in the 1960s...
M.S. : 8/13/2018 9:29 am : link

...Frank Tarkenton was the QB and the Giants were losing against the Washington Redskins with just a few minutes left in the 4th Quarter.

The Giants executed an amazing double reverse with either Joe Morrison throwing (or catching) a TD pass to win the game!

PatersonPlank : 8/13/2018 9:43 am : link
I watch it over and over. Couldn't believe he was that wide open then, can't believe it now. I think I read somewhere that Eli said he threw the ball and then time stopped. He just kept yelling for the ball to get down because it never seemed to move. It was a surreal moment. Oh, and screw the Pats.

For sheer magnitude it has to be this play. It was like a walk-off homer in game 7 of the WS. You knew when the ball came down they were champions.
A different Victor Cruz, play
Keyser : 8/13/2018 10:34 am : link
Victor Cruz first regular season TD vs the eagles, makes a move that causes two eagles to run into each other like keystone kops.

Honorable mention to Victor Cruz TD vs. Cowboys at end of the season when someone in the nbc truck surreptitiously piped in salsa music to the audio as Cruz was doing his salsa after the td.

This is it for me. Not the best and certainly not the most important play I've seen as a Giants fan. But I loved Bavaro, and there's something so awesome about his refusal to go down as more and more of them grabbed onto him. Such an awesome football play.
Cruz for 99 yards
Chris684 : 8/13/2018 10:49 am : link
was great because it made Christmas great by all but eliminating the Jets and mathematically eliminating the Eagles. 2 birds, 1 stone. That was at a time when Eagles fans were talking about "Dream Team" and Jets fans were talking about "JetLife Stadium".

I let out a yell/squeal/cry that came out like a bizarro donkey bray. Embarrassed and laugh/crying (OK, a little drunk)I went into the kitchen to compose myself.

No single Giant play EVER made me lose it like that.

Therefore - it's my favorite.

It was my first live Giants playoff game. All the anticipation and build up leading up to the game against our division rival and he takes the opening kick to the house. I remember the stadium being louder than anything I had ever heard in my life to that point.

..so I'll go with a generic one.

Simms down the seam to Bavaro.

Summerall always had good lines, but after one completion for a TD, he goes "Simms to Bavaro.....made it look easy....."
I’ll go with 1 each for offense, defense and special teams..

Great examples of G I A N T S football under Parcells ...

Defense ... Burt knocks out Montana and LT scores

Offense ... O J Anderson run over Kelso in the super bowl ...

special teams .... can you say “wide right” ?

... can't believe no one referenced my favorite play. Easy one. Giants down in the 1990 NFC Championship. Last couple of minutes of game and Erik Howard hits Roger Craig in the backfield and LT grabs the fumble before it hits the ground. Hostetler takes us down the field and Bahr makes the kick. Giants win 5-13 and go on to win Super Bowl.

Giants beat longtime rival in Candlestick who going for three-peat. Montana, Rice, Lott, Craig, Bill Walsh that was a great 49er team.

Erik Howard causes the fumble and LT recovers. My favorite Giants play of all time
Mark Ingram insane Super Bowl first down...

Also - remember that Tiki run against Kansas City where he made 7 or 8 tacklers miss?

That's a great memory - however Seifert was the 9er coach then. That game produced so many great memories. Marshall's hit, Reason's fake punt, Hostetler coming back after having his leg nearly amputated by Burt, the fumble, the FG! There will be no 3 peat!!!

I believe the game you are referring to was against the Steelers. Tark handed off to the running back (Frederickson maybe?} who handed to Homer Jones coming on a end around who flipped it back to Tarkenton for the pass to Morrison and the TD.

Lots of good answers on this thread, but a singular play that stands out to me was game the of the 2007 season. Iirc the first two games were blowout losses where the defense didn't look good. We were playing Washington and the defense was folding again. The skins were on the goal line, went for it on fourth down. A big stop happened and it seemed the defense changed, took on a new attitude and went on toward history
Obvious ones have been mentioned. A few more I love:
tikimvp : 8/13/2018 3:45 pm : link

- Nicks long TD (w/ dirty bird celebration) vs Atl in '11 wild card game. We were outplayed in 1st quarter of this game, tide turned in 2nd and than this really put it away, if I recall.

- Bradshaw running the giants to '07 playoffs in the snow in Buffalo

- RW McQuarters INT in the end zone in Dallas
