He still adds value and at a minimum provides depth.
I keep thinking that teams are waiting until the period where vets can sign non-guaranteed deals.
He might be asking too much at this point, figuring if he’s going to subject his oft-injured body to abuse, he better get far more than the vet minimum or simply hang them up
are saying that he was being a malcontent and they didn't want his attitude impacting the younger players. That, and he's been done for 2 years. It was dumb signing to begin with.
While the notion that he is not exactly a leader in the locker room Â
Was one of the best playmakers on the field for us last year. How anyone missed that is beyond me. I understand us walking away if he was toxic in the locker room and made the Apple situation worse, but based off of last years play he is far from done IMO.

Done for 2 years? He was very good in 2016 during the 11-5 season.

I think Mike's post was misinterpreted - he was referring to Scandrick although this is a thread on DRC.

game skills that the giants are not interested. Personally thought he was a sure thing to be back, with a reasonable contract offer. Tremendous talent over the years.

I'm constantly surprised at how people defend players from these past 5 years as if the team were something other than the pile of garbage its been.
I can understand good feelings for Eli (obviously) and JPP, who even though he was a clown did contribute in a big way to a title. But DRC? He's part of the reason this team has been a loser. Good riddance.
The way people talk about the players you'd think this has been a decent era of football for the Giants, and not the pathetic garbage we've seen since 2013. This has been the worst era of Giants football since the '70s...anyone not named Eli Manning that was a part of it is someone I won't remember fondly and will be happy to see gone. 7-9, 6-10, 6-10, 11-5, 3-13.

He had a purpose here and played very well.

Agree 100%. Don't forget the Giants didn't out right cut him until he refused a cut in pay for his reduced workload.

He is talking about Scandrick you dolt.
That said, DRC was a good player here for the most part. He was a key piece on a 2016 defense that was very good.

Makes sense in context.

Did you actually watch him last season?
Zero, zip, nada, cero interceptions.....
One, uno, un, ein pass defended.....
And the last several seasons he has been nicked a lot and missed important game time....
As for the locker room, I have no idea.....
As for signing him after the season starts, at his age and with his history, he is a risk to stay on the field....
What a dumb comment
