Lions Join Trend - Announce Lowered Concession Prices

Danny Kanell : 8/14/2018 2:43 pm
3rd team to do it. It just makes so much sense for football teams to do this instead of losing out on sales to people drinking and eating as much as they can of their own food and booze before going into the stadium.

Quote:
The Detroit Lions are following the Falcons and Ravens as the latest NFL team to lower concession prices, instituting a Silver Savings program at Ford Field for the 2018 season.

The Lions' concession plan is two-fold. It starts with the DTE Power Hour during the first 60 minutes that the stadium is open on gameday. During that time, fans can access the most significant savings, including $2 hot dogs and sodas along with $3 beers. Savings during the Power Hour are estimated to average 60%.

Once the hour ends, fans will still be able to find deals at any Silver Savings stand located throughout each concourse. Those stands will feature a pair of value menus – including a $12 hot dog, chips and beer combo – as well as $5 beers throughout the game at select locations.

The good old days before high security and pat downs at Giant Stadium. Between our group we would walk in with a case stuck in arm sleeves and pant legs. Now those were reduced prices!

Crazy. I went to the Yankee game Sunday and the first round I bought was a Blue Point IPA, a Heineken and a water and it was $36 plus a $4 tip I gave her.
Surprised they lowered beer that much

"Power Hour" involving beer strikes me as a trial lawyer's dream. Food, on the other hand, makes sense.

Eh, it's the first hour after gates open, which is probably 1.5+ hours before kickoff. Most hardcore drinkers are likely tailgating for far less money than even these reduced prices.

I was @ Citi two Fridays back for Mets Braves. This Mikkeller or something had this really delicious IPA called Henry Hops. One brew was $11 or something like that. Absurd.

issued a letter to the Redskin season ticket holders? It said due to safety reasons, they were not going to permit BBQ grills in the parking lot anymore. However, "for your convenience", we will add concession stands in the parking lot.
At some point in the future tickets will be free or

Mikkeller is one of the world's finest purveyors of kick ass beer and $11 dollars for a tasty treat or 9.50 for a Bud-Mago-Rita. Your call.
