Sunday Ticket

I have to reup my contract for one year, the $60.00 per month off my bill is for one year. The Sunday Ticket is just for the basic package.

I called and got nothing so I cancelled the ticket for now.

I'm considering changing to cable.

Fairly sure, but I'll check.

I usually do as well, but I got a rep that was a little pissy and she pissed me off right away so I cancelled. I'm not sure if I'll give it another crack or not.

I didn't even call them. Just shows up on my bill as Sunday Ticket MAX Renewal $0.00. It was a pleasant surprise.

Don't know if you're serious or not, but I have been considering the same thing. The only reason that I have Direct TV is for Sunday Ticket and there are other ways to watch the Giants. If I cancel then I'm not putting up with losing connection every time it rains.

I use YouTube TV with a fake GPS location to watch the Giants

by how much they took off my bill for the next year. Practically cut my bill in half, saving me over $1500 for the year.

That said, if I lived in the NY metro area and got the Giants directly on local TV, I am not sure I would be sticking with DirecTV. The price -- even cut in half -- is still significantly more than I would be paying for Fios TV in a bundle with my phone and Internet bills.

Even out of the area as I am, I have been toying with the idea of using my Slingbox from my place at the Shore to watch the games (like I do with Knicks and Mets games). I'm just not 100% confident in the Slingbox, as sometimes it can be buggy and needs to be re-set manually at the box, and I sometimes don't get up to the Shore for weeks at a time in the late Fall and Winter. So I am reluctant to bet my Giants watching on it exclusively.

getting to watch any other game I want, not whatever the Washington, DC local stations are showing.

was pretty painless and the automated answering service on the main line number connected me to the loyalty department right away by saying "cancel service".

of the Giants games will be televised locally. But there will be a few, maybe 4 that are not. What is going to be an effective way of watching those games (short of going to a bar that has the ticket)?

They offer nothing and every once in a while I will find an interesting program and then have to sit through 3 minutes of commercials ever 8 minutes. This is definitely my last year of DirecTV.

How's you manage that? I'd love YouTube TV, but they say it's not in my area yet. Haven't figured out how to "trick" the location setter.

Go to the Google Play Store download Fake GPS set it to anywhere in New York then download YouTube TV and sign in and you're good to go they also have SNY and yes for baseball

and went to dish. Sure it'll be same old same old, but I also can't stand DTV now that it's ATT. I get all the Giants games anyway and honestly I'd rather watch redzone then Sunday ticket.

Now I can stream any game I want for free.

this year, including them waiving the fee to move to my new address. I used my sisters school email and the discount code I found through clark howard and got the streaming for $80 for the year. Good work by you - I'm just sick of haggling for the year.

Do they have fake gps for iPhone or is it just an android app - and I assume it's on your phone? If I get fake GPS for iPhone and get Youtube TV, how can I get Giants games? Youtube TV offers local TV channels so I'd get the local channels for NY/NJ instead of MA where I live?

If I did this, I could then in theory use my chromecast and watch the game on my TV from my phone or even Apple TV and project from my phone to the TV - which is much better than any other solution since a) i'm not reliably home on Sundays (coach youth hockey) and b) I only want to see the Giants games.

Yes they have fake GPS for iPhones. I use an Android box that I have it all downloaded on you can use your phone but you won't be able to stream it to your TV because technically you won't be in your IP address is normal location. But if you went to your local Walmart Target or Best Buy you could buy a box for 40 bucks and download everything on there

Yes Apple has Fake GPS. I have an Android box that I have everything downloaded on if you're going to run it off of your phone you're not going to be able to Chromecast it because technically you will not be using the same IP address because you'll be using it Fake GPS

Sounds like I have to call back on Aug 23 which is stupid. Not sure if I am being "played" or not but will give it a few more days and see what happens.
