No, Andujar to 1B is probably the most UNLIKELY outcome. Andjuar's primary strength is his arm, with footwork and scooping being weaknesses. At 1B, the strength would be completed negated, while making the weaknesses even more obvious.
Only the NY Post writers and other media with a a huge gap of knowledge about the game would have come up with that blatantly WRONG scenario.
It wouldn’t have made a difference but, shit man, show some fucking fire when arguing that bullshit call on Stanton. This team is lifeless right now, they could’ve used that.

Could see a Soriano-esque move to corner OF where his arm could still be utilized. Good point.
But Rich, there are ways to make good points without continuing to come off as a condescending prick unable to properly communicate with others. You seem to lack that ability.
Please tell me we are fucking done with these guys Â

I don't sugar coat things. A bad idea is a bad idea and I'm not going to dance around it.
My guess is the Yankees will just continue to live with it next year. They have an organizational philosophy and I don't think they're going to change the people or person who set that agenda.
But I wonder if the success of teams that have gone away from 3 outcome hitters and bad defenders will make itself into the Yankees laptops over the winter. Or not.
Bird gets another 6 weeks pretty much and I see that as it Â
Romine isn't on the roster next year. His bat this year is the definition of a fluke and i'm fucking sick of seeing him behind the plate. He is a poor defensive catcher.

Yup. Your backup catcher should at least be good behind the plate, and he isn't.

Yeah, showing a little fire is going to bring those dead bats to life. That's the ticket...NOT.
It is almost comical to read the daily put-downs of Boone on this site. I almost expect that tomorrow someone will blame Boone for the Yanks playing a day game today instead of a night game.
The Yanks miss Judge's bat and an effective Sanchez. Sevy is in a slump and they have injuries. That's the reality. Nothing Boone does will change that.
Injuries took away their best starters and backups- Judge, Sanchez, Frazier, Montgomery, Loiasiga, etc. Boone going out to argue a call isn't going to change that.
That's life- using the manager as a scapegoat for those issues is weak.

is possible to not sugar coat things while not coming off as a condescening prick.
Yes, thank you.
I’ve been down this road and can tell you that the tiger doesn’t change it’s stripes. Not worth your energy.
It’s a shame, too, because he’s got some in depth knowledge and good insights, notwithstanding the statement of opinions as fact and talking down to everyone constantly.
This team doesn't even make the wild card game? Or does and gets knocked out?
Do they get rid of Boone? Go on a signing spree? I'm probably venting a bit here after a bad loss, but at some point when does Cashman start getting some heat? Yes the rings with the late 90's Dynasty were amazing, but you're looking at 1 title in 18 years at that point.

Yeah clearly a knowledgeable poster but I've begun to groan reading his overly long diatribes with unnecessarily capitalized words and a know-it-all attitude.
The other day he made a ridiculously off base defense of the use of AJ Cole in the Mets game where he had the game score and situation wrong as his premise for the entire point. I, along with just about everybody else, disagreed with this clearly wrong point but did so in a respectful manner. Clearly he does not possess the ability nor the desire.
It's fine, if he needs to get his self-esteem from talking to down to people on a message board, I'll let him. I've been on these Yankee threads for a long time. There are plenty of knowledgeable AND respectful Yankee fans to interact with.

I'm hoping that they continue to trust the kids. They still have some upside guys left- Sheffield, Frazier, several relievers.
On the other hand, the Yanks have to sell tickets and fans want winners in NY. I think the current course is the right one long term- play through the growth of the younger guys to build a future foundation. However, if they lose the Wild Card game, I could easily see ownership directing Cashman to get Machado at all costs and to buy up some SP.
I wouldn't agree with it- but they own and run the team, not me.
I think that they could just let a lot of vets (Gardner, Robertson, CC and others) walk, keep one or two of the new SP (Happ and/or Lynn) and "encourage" the young guys to spend more time in Tampa this winter working on skills.
IMO, the hardest decision will be what to do with Andujar. A month ago, I thought he had the next decade as the Yanks 3B locked down. With his defense over the past several weeks, I am questioning that. Do you trade him? Do you keep him and hope he recovers the first half performance? Do you move him (not sure where he would play- scouts have always indicated a corner OF would play with that arm- but is LF in Yankee Stadium too big for him?)
I don't get a good feeling about what would happen this off-season if the Yanks lost the Wild Card game. The Yanks reconfigured at the trade deadline to take on Boston- but might not get to even play them if the bats don't wake up.
Is a horrible manager and Cashman is starting to make the kind of moves that can ruin this entire rebuild. They go out and sign Machado, that will be the beginning of the end. keep these kids, get a fucking manager not a fucking puppet, go get starting pitching. Time to replace Bird, he stinks. They need to add a couple of pricks to the team, guys who want to win mo0re then joke around and have a great clubhouse.
Bird needs to earn his job next year, not have it handed to him. That nonsense needs to end immediately.

crazy shit. we literally cant fucking beat the rays
This guy came out of the pen and threw ONE pitch over the heart of the plate and that was the ONE pitch no one swung at.
They keep playing like this and there may be no WC game

His footwork is an issue on throws. He'd be fine at 1b.
Bird is a mediocre defensive 1st basemen anywyas
No, he got sent down for Toe.

If Toe was hitting the way he was last year or earlier this year (before he was sent down), I think it would've been a serious consideration.
