are indicators of what will transpire during the season. Just because what was “seen” in pre-season turned out to be the case during the season, means nothing, as there are simply 2 guesses involved..Hence, everyone has a 50% chance of being correct.
I disagree with anyone and everyone who says or implies Â
our 2011 Super Bowl was some kind of fluke and that team wasn’t a worthy champion.
Not sure if I disagree with “most” fans about that...but whenever the 2011 team is discussed, the generally accepted view by Giants fans and non Giants fans seems to be that championship team was some kind of fluke, and I think that’s BS.
I'm in the very small minority that thinks that although it wasn't handled well by McAdoo, the plan last year was fine and Eli's reaction to it (benching himself) was what made it such an ordeal.
Don't want to argue that viewpoint on this thread for the hundredth time though.
Gilbride was very good and a smart qb Luke Elijah was the perfect match. Dumb wide receivers were a part of the problem. My contribution is that jarred bunch was a monster.
the decline of Eli is due to crappy Oline play, not Eli getting older. I believe that Eli has not turned the career corner and if given an average Oline and all the pieces we now have, he'll do a great job.

My problem with Gilbride was the number of times on 3rd and short he had Eli throwing 30+ yard incomplete passes downfield instead of just moving the chains.
That preseason games give any indication of a how a team Â
This is probably the right place for me to poke fun at all of my defenses of Perry Fewell.
I still don't think he was THAT bad... the defensive talent was horrendous for most of the time he was here and we did win a Super Bowl with him as DC. Needless to say, there were many arguments. :)
who are Giants fans whined way too much about Shockey. He played hard and just because he wasn't Mark Bavaro, he was looked at as some kind of heel. Always thought that crowd was just annoying. The guy was effective.
When you ve seen Tittle, Tarkington and Simms, hard to just hand Eli that mantle. Especially when you consider how much tougher he NFL was on quarterbacks in those eras

My old man and I were walking through Candlestick for NFCC in 11, line to get in was a bear and already started raining. Hurrying through lower level to get to our seats, and Perry Fewell is getting into the field access elevator. A 9ers fan recognizes him and says "you better bring it" and Fewell just looks at him with this smirk.
I could never tell if I liked him or hated him, but somehow he summoned up some serious D in that run and no one can take that away from him.

Gets a bad rap because of the super bowl and 49ers debacle but he was also responsible for some amazing wins especially with the 97 team with an offense of no names and rookies
Most of the things I disagree with other fans about Â
- That the holding penalty on Keith Hamilton overturning the Giant touchdown vs Ravens in SuperBowl was a bad call. It wasn't.
- That Fassel did his job at the end of the SF playoff debacle in Jan 2003 to work the refs on the rules and get them change their bad call and run another untimed final play. He didn't.
- That Coughlin/Giants did the right thing by letting Bradshaw score at end of the 2012 SuperBowl. Should have been told in advance to stop or fall down and he wasn't.
- That Eli Apple wasn't a panic move. He was and Reese fucked up.
- That Evan Engram would have lasted to Rd 2. I am an Engram fan but a trade down was in order and still would have gotten him.
- That the Jonathan Stewart signing was a ridiculous waste of money. It was.
I don't rewrite history or change my opinions solely to make it seem like the Giants know what they're doing. I also don't give them, their front office, their coaches, or their players a pass or the benefit of the doubt simply because they're Giants.
I also can't believe the fans aren't more angry and disgusted with the players that were here these last few years and especially last year. They can all leave.
- That Fassel did his job at the end of the SF playoff debacle in Jan 2003 to work the refs on the rules and get them change their bad call and run another untimed final play. He didn't.
Who thought he did his job? I can't recall one person ever saying that

Eli has gone on record that they knew the Pats might let them score and they said they would take a knee. Bradshaw got swept up in the moment and forgot.
"A day later, the Giants’ views on the play, and on the concept over all, seemed to vary. Coughlin said he did not instruct Bradshaw to stop short before the play, preferring to take the guaranteed points and not play for a last-second winning field goal when something could go wrong, like a bad snap or a shanked kick.
The running backs coach Jerald Ingram said Bradshaw did the right thing, though he had hoped he would linger on the 1 as long as possible and fall into the end zone only when the Patriots went to tackle him."
about Fassel and the San Fran game. All of whom say Fassel couldn't have done anything...
I've also always felt he could have and should have refused to leave the field. It's burned in my memory how he just walked off as I was screaming at the TV for him to at least discuss the ruling with the refs.
But you're mostly right because the overwhelming consensus on BBI was as you've stated. I've also had that argument many times here.
than I hate Philly. A lot of Iggles hate on BBI...but my dislike of Dallas surpasses it.
What's so strange about that? Especially on here it sounds like most BBI Giant fans actually want to make out with the Eagles, the way they talked about them in my thread.
"Seeing Brady go down at the expense of the Eagles in the Super Bowl was retrieving!"
Now that's what I (and my father) would call a fool!

I don't know one person that has said the line is fixed. It has been improved but who says it is fixed?
Don't want to argue that viewpoint on this thread for the hundredth time though.
Many fans disagree.

It might literally just be me and you bud.

Well common sense would tell you missing 0 games in 210 games proves he's tough
I love the Saquon pick, but I don’t think Eli still has it.
And Webb blows, so we need our QB of the future.
My old man would agree with you. He thinks Simms is a HOFer.

I guess he’s doing a good job with Jalen Ramsey
I agree

I'll make it three of us...
I was not an Eli fan out of the gate, hated the trade. Would have preferred stay put and pick Ben.
By 2006 Eli won me over.
Now I felt like it was time to move on from Eli. Don't dislike the Barkley pick, but feel it's going to make getting Eli's successor harder.
I never hated Tiki like some fans did, but I don't put as much stock into the off-field/commentary as some fans, and I loved "on-field" Tiki.
I was fine with letting Coughlin go/retire, unlike some fans
Hated the Dan Reeves hire (can't remember fan consensus then)
oh, and politics, I disagree with most Giants fans on politics.

The past five years have been nothing but bath water.
Want to know who my favorite players on the team are? Eli and the rookies.

Works for me, no tunnels, brides and stupid city traffic. I'm not complaining.
