1. No injuries
2. No injuries
3. Eli side-stepping a pass rusher and getting a solid pass off. None of this "phantom pressure" stuff.
4. OL improving. I don't think this OL has the talent to be "dominant" by any means. But it can be "effective or adequate enough" to just get the job done. The only guy on the OL that I think COULD become dominant is OG Hernandez but not necessarily this year as he has a lot to learn.
5. RB's finding holes and being patient to exploit them. I think we have a great group. Too bad Barkley got dinged in practice but at least it isn't a bad injury. Play it safe.
6. Defense shutting down the Lions run game. This DL in particiular seems very stout and Goodson is a tackling machine.
7. Special Teams: consistency, solid FG's and KO's, good punting & punt coverage.
8. Can anyone not named Vernon pressure the QB? I do believe Barwin has a year left in the tank so he'll be used sparingly now so as not to get "wear and tear" on his 31 year old body.
9. Will a FS, nickel CB, DB step up?
10. QB Webb & Lauletta - again, do they show improvement and get the little things done? Webb can't be throwing high and lauletta can't loft ones that hang deep.
An Offense that puts together a number of scoring drives. A defense that can get off the field and one that can stop the pass, we know they can stop the run. Finally LBs that can cover a TE.
gameplay against the Giants is simple. On offense, attack Apple. On defense, blitz Eli. He's 37, immobile, and playing behind a makeshift line with a rookie starter, a new RT, and that has chemistry and communication problems. It will be another long season unless we get these problems resolved.
This is a big game for Webb, and the backup OL and CB.
I agree with Eric. We need to establish a culture of winning, starting now.

Yup said that earlier in the week .... he’ll get his work in WK 3
Or was it when he was on the Jets ?.... I should try to reach out to Greg Buttle

True enough. I'll stand corrected.
I'll take 130 yds rushing and hold opponents to 50 every week. Probably should go 13-3.
